Awesome, I just read it on F-1 live. I think it would be great if he did that as well.

It would be cool, but all he'll be is a very well paid test driver. Unless he feels like taking Massa's seat which is unlikely.

The longer you've worked for a company...the harder it is to leave. ;)

    Trust me...I know. :(

If he hops back in the car this season or next I'll be at indy no matter how much it costs.

I really can't see him racing this year! To tell the truth i can't ever see him racing anything for a full season ever again out side of Karting !

But i'am sure we will see him testing the F2007, to have one off the greatest drivers of all time in the company and not let him test would be a waste, let alone crazy..

Would it not be wonderful to see him at some races as "friday test driver" . i know the rules allow a lot more running this year !!!

I just hope this doesn't mean the team is in bad shape so far this year and they need his technical input to improve. I was looking forward to a dominant season.

Yes, and I wonder how kimi will feel about being second driver? I would think MS would come back as main driver? Than again what if MS loose WDC to alonso again for third time?

MS will not be coming back as a team driver, only as test/development driver. And I do think this means the team feels they are not as far ahead of the competition as they would like.

Or more worryingly - that Kimi and Massa are not giving them the feedback they need?

While sentiments are sweet, it's important to not cling too tightly for the return of Michael as a driver. Having witnessed this scenario with past greats from other sports, it can only serve to diminish his legacy by not staying away. He's gone, guys. Retired. Never discount Ferrari's new-found love of marketing and self-promotion. They love the opportunity to generate talk, and what easier way than sewing together a bunch of Schumi suits. I'm sure he'll show up and take one out from time to time. That's probably part of his fuzzy arrangement with the Scuderia. But try and accept that he's stepped aside, hung up the spurs, and the sport has moved on.

It's a TOTAL PR stunt. So many people out there worship Michael that F1 thinks it will have to go on life support without him. They have to have him in a car in some shape or form or the majority of the people will lose interest.
    Sad.

won't happen. unlike michael jordan who tarnished his image to feed his ego (and have second and third helpings of NBA road poon-tang) michael is happily retired (as reported) and has nothing left to prove in racing. a test driver for the scuderia, possibly. a F1 driver? he has nothing to gain and a lot to lose.

schumacher is too aware of his acomplishments to undermind them. the last race of last years F1 season was michael's last hurrah. and a good one at that.

Agreed going from 14th to 4th was amazing. I only wish he could have been on the podium.

I don't want MS to test the car. Kimi will have to work far less to earn a WDC.

Since Ferrari will no be doing sports car racing, maybe Montezemelo will let him drive the Alfa Romeo factory effort at LeMans in 2008. Then ALMS in 2009!!

I forgot all about friday testing...if the ferrari goes on to dominate the field maybe MS could do a one off at Monza or something...not that i'm holding my breath, maybe a little bit
