So wy are ferrari owners perceived as pricks? Is becuase we are always p-offed that we are doing the rest of the worlds jobs. The reason we get to drive these cars is becuase we work hard, and do our f'in job. What is it with incompetent people these days? My god, there is not a day that goes by that Im amazed how some people can even tie their shoes in the morning. And it seems most are the younger generation. (30 and under) No joke.. I interviewed someone today who was 24 for an outside advertising sales position. The guy was late, he had on sweat pants (yes, sweat pants), and could barely frame a sentence. When I told him I wasnt interested, he had the balls to argue with me on how I dont know good people when i see them. Yesterday, I go to Mikey D's for a quick bite on the run. I order no onions on my burger. It comes with extra onions. I go in and explain the problem, so the manager tells me he doesnt understand what the issue is, as they made sure mine came out with no pickles.. WTF? So then he proceeded to argue with me about it. Damn, just remake the freakin burger will you. Wednesday. Fiance's lawyers, parelegal sent a confiential file (that she failed to read, she just copied it) that cost a 50k settlement.. and the only consession was.. opps, sorry about that. WTF? People, people. Get off your butts, and do your F'in job. Whats with all the lazyness. Im tired of doin your job for you. And you wonder why im a prick? Anyhow, Happy Friday
That's why I never order a special. I take the crap I don't want off myself. You get your burger faster and you don't have to argue with anyone. Always check your oder. They will give you a fish sandwich and when you find yourself miles away its too late. Nobody will take care of you like you will. Nobody. If others were competent, what would they need us for? Just make sure you get paid for it. Ciao The first 100 years are the hardest, after that it's all down hill. Go home and have a beer or other adult beverage.
What does any of that have to do with being a Ferrari owner? I understand where you are coming from on the idiot thing. I am continually amazed that some people manage to live. It is across the board though...I seem to meet idiots from every socio-economic level that I just want to smack. Just take a deep breath and enjoy your extra onions. LOL!!
I think there is a greater than average percentage of expensive sports car and classic car owners that are pricks....
Funny that someone else has thought about this......One thing I have always thought incongruous was the perception that "owners of Ferraris, Porsches, Lambos, etc. MUST be pricks, because they spent $XXX,XXX on a car"..... While at the same time, "Bubba jes boughted hisself a threehunnert-an-sumthin dol-ler Cigarette boat, and thet's all kewl an stuff. Whut a nice guy..." One plays out in the country on curvy roads, the other does his best to rock every boat in the harbor while blazing across a lake/bay in a drunken stupor. I haven't figured that one out in twenty years of wondering, and probably never will. I just don't get it.
You say you went into a McDonalds and ordered a burger with no onions and it came with onions. As a result, you complained about it and went and talked with the manager and argued with him. When I order a burger with no onions and it comes with onions, I take the onions off and eat it. Or I just eat it with the onions. I don't own a Ferrari, though.
Honestly cause many are, especilly the a wipes that buy these cars just as a status symbol with the F1s cause they don't know how to drive a stick putting along blocking traffic I moved to a small town recently in the past few months and get a totally different attitude than in a big city about my cars, most here have never seen a Ferrari in person all their lives, I have had teenage girls chase me down following me to the gas station just to look at my cars, same with all other types starting conversations, the reason why they have never been exposed to the arrogant a hole types in these cars as people that live in big cities who see Ferraris a few times a month
Just look at the threads posted. Many fit into the catagories of money, sex and ego. It is difficult to see that Ferrari owners are multidimensional people when you continually find threads that fit into these catagories. Viewed from that perspective it is difficult to draw another conclusion.
We are people. What's your point. If you want a perfect world you are going to have to get rid of all the people. Ciao Phil Not Hill Life is too short not to own a Ferrari and be an F1 fan. Forza Ferrari.
Some of the nicest people I have met are Ferrari owners, also some of the biggest P***ks I have met are Ferrari owners. I am sure the same can be said about owners of Ford, Chevy, etc.
Do you know why they are considered pricks? Answer: just because they make lots of money, they think anyone who doesn't is either incompetent or lazy or just beneath them. And many of them think that they are therefore owed better service/respect/etc. simply because of the fact that they have money. Mind you, some Ferrari owners are gentlemen, but it seems the ones who are younger are real butt holes, with no respect for velour ropes and signs that clearly say, "Do Not Touch/Sit in Ferrari."
No matter how stupid or incompetent the restaurant staff is,I never, ever argue with them.I don't want to end up with their DNA(in one form or another, all equally disgusting),in my food. You piss them off,you are guaranteed to get some. I am polite with minor issues (like onion that can be removed by myself) or leave when the food is not edible.
+1 Ah! Someone who thinks like me! Sometimes I go out with friends and they insist on arguing w/staff over minor details... and then I suggest 'you know what they're going to do w/our food, right?'!
Yes!! Great movie...imagine the freedom of just snapping like that. All of that built up anger coming out. That movie is an accurate depiction of the fine edge most people walk daily.
