    Hi,

was just wondering if any of you guys have gone into Iraq by Kuwait, using land transport?
Is it easier to fly in from kuwait or Dubai. Anyone done this,
I am of asian decent and would be visting the country alone, I guess, it would have the usual dangers and all. Would be there to do some work but I have a few days free so wanted to look around.
Anyone can provide any tips, on the do's and dont.

    Thanks for any inputs

I guess as much. So you really reckon its that's bad. Well, not much choice as we are on official work there. But i guess, i would just stay indoors, and leave as quickly as I can.

A friend of mine went there two years ago.

    He went through jordan.

You'd better off knowing some influencial people there.

    Otherwise, your life means nothing.

I have a relative in the army who was just flown back minus 1 leg plus a lot of shrapnel.

What work could you possibly be doing that you have to go in by yourself, and make your own way? If your not military, and this is commercial or aid, then your entry should be organised through the military anyway. As far as I know thats the only way to legally enter the country.

They were travelling in Land Rover, 4 together, armed, trained. 1 died, 1 seriously injured, 2 minor injuries, helicopter extraction.

    Country one big mess.
    Apparently, it is that mad.

He visited some members of his family who were big guys.

    Hi,
thanks for your feedback, and yes there are other ways, we can get into the country by land. I am actually just looking at some investements. I would be there on official business only for a day or two. I wanted to have some time o have a look. But I guess, its really unsafe. I would probably be schedule to go into the country in June, So was just asking around, if anyone went into the country and how etc. i would probably be flying in, But i wanted some options as I like to look at the country, but i guess, I would have to give this a miss.

Dude, no "interests" can be worth your life. F*** the money, don't take useless risks in that hellish madness. Life's worth much more than that.

You might be able to hire some members of Black Water to protect you. But elite mercenaries aren't cheap.

    Hi 3604u,

I work in the defense community and Iraq, like all conflict zones, is a business opportunity for some people. A lot of people have been doing work in iraq without too much trouble. 50/50 chance of getting killed is absurd but I strongly, strongly suggest that you get private security for the time you are there.

Aside from the obvious advantages of having armed men to watch your back, they will also plan and execute the best course of action to get you in and out of country + backup plans in the event “**** happens”

Blackwater USA and Aegis Specialist Risk Management are by far the most experienced and professional outfits out there. They charge a premium but you know they are good and you will be getting seasoned, professional soldiers, rather than some night club bouncer touting a submachine gun. Some smaller firms have been known to deploy people like that.

Look them up and give them a call.

    http://www.blackwaterusa.com/securityconsulting/

    http://www.aegisworld.com/

From my experiences with blackwater they were very professional and great men.

Getting security from these people is VERY expensive but it’s an investment and if your trip isn’t going to pay out the costs in one way or another, find another way to make the money.

PM me if you have more questions and good luck.
