I've heard things about this, and you could kinda anticipate it, HDMI equipped Xbox360! http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200702/N07.0216.1234.57890.htm I just got a PS3, but ehhhh. I can't wait for Halo3 to come out, I hope it's 1080p ready! How sick that would be.
I'd be a little bit pissed if they come out with an Xbox 360.1 Microsoft is giving alot of customers the shaft that already have a 360.
I hope it's quieter. That's my main complaint with mine, the loud drive and fans. Not that I plan on buying a second (not until I can get a big house and install a few Halo stations ). I've been trying to get a Wii (albeit rather passively, I'm not staking out the stores or anything) but haven't come across one yet.
Actually there are different versions of the xbox drive, the latest one made by BenQ is supposedly much quieter than previous versions (Samsung and Hitachi). I knew it was smart to wait out for the the X360
thread hijack for just a sec... and as soon as you find that Wii you won't be disappointed. I've had one since early January and wish I had more time to play... anyways... I'm not really sure how the whole HDMI port thing is really worth all the effort for the 360... especially so soon after release... maybe a few years down the road when the console can shrink just a bit (cause it's HUGE...), but I can't see any good reasoning now...
The funny thing is Microsoft should have made the 360 with HDMI from the start not just after the PS3 debuted. Microsoft screwed up there.
Personally I think the console size has less of a deal than the HDMI. The games for the X360 are out there but I've avoided getting one just because it doesn't have HDMI. Yeah they really dropped the ball. How much could it have costed to throw on an HDMI port? Besides, it's not like they were afraid to lose money, didn't Microsoft lose more than 9$bil off of Xbox1?
I'm not sure if it was 9 billion but it was A LOT. I've also heard that 360s overheat fairly easily. Is this true?
I've also heard the same thing, but honestly I think that's more attributable to idiots not using ventilation -- however, my PS3 is literally inside a cabinet and it didn't do anything weird in the few hours we played Resistance Fall of Man (omg game @ 1080p btw).
The overheating issue can be resolved by replacing the internal fan with a modified unit. I plan to do that later sometime.
I like my 360 but I wouldn't be bummed about a newer model coming out.. especially since I got mine for $100.00 on Amazon.com.
Well then you have nothing to lose, since you got it for $100 during the amazon's top picks week. I can't believe how quick all 1,000 units got sold. They should do that more frequently.
Well it did take two computers refreshing every 3~ seconds to get it.. kinda stressful at the time but well worth it.
