It's actually a Germanic driving position. The Italian driving position is short legs and long hands, hence the 'ape-like' driving position of yore ( in the old days before most were 'educated' in the art of driving, it's so stylish to drive with hands stretched and some modern day Ah Bengs are doing it all the same..). An Italianate driving position means the legs will be splayed because of limited legroom to the pedals, along with straight hands to reach the tiller..The Gcar has teutonic anthropometrics built in, for the long legged aryans.....
Haha I was just about to say Orang Utan when Isk mentioned it Congrats Les, welcome to the underworld. You are the fifth darklord to be inducted.
Yep, and you and Jon and Rara and who else...Leslie?....must give Ang Pow to the qualified ones...i.e Fongster and moi, because it's the year of Pigs and we own Porkers..!!!!!
Let me say it for you, " Congrats bro, you've just bought a bad car. That's a lemon & a PITA that even Ferrari try to disassociate" Yeah big deal. No I'm not sour about it & I don't push it to it's limits because I know mine & I used it daily before. Not any worst than an SBS bus getting from point A to B, I even brought it for grocery & put a shoe rack in front. Hell, most people loved it to bits, especially tourists. Get over it CT, don't like it, don't buy it. I'm sure an Evo IX gives more pleasure Let's put an end to this shall we? Now can someone please explain to me what's a Sequential gearbox? I found an article in an old Octane last night but their English so deep me cannot fathom
Hello, I don't drive it around CNY to showoff leh. Most people around me know I've sold both my P & Fcars, now only got an old Alfa where dealers scram everytime I want to trade. I damn cham, even relatives say I lost weight
Hello, how can u be cham? U lost weight, U bot lambo, u give out alot of ang pow. How can this be cham? Like that I also want to be cham.
Hi everyone, really tired from dinner, had too much to eat! All I know is you do not have to lift with sequential. Just bam bam bam with your foot on the accelerator. Now over to someone who knows more hee!
you must hold the record for the longest time between posts. at least 3 years, i think. at this rate, we can expect to hear from you again no earlier than march 2010, haha. welcome bro. rara, if you are not in bed by eleven, go home! are you coming by tomorrow? jon?
aiyah, just degrees of cham-ness lah. backside getting a bit itchy again bro. gallardo spyder or 430 spider? purely for research purposes, you understand...
They are both good cars...but if I were to summarise simply The 430 has the better engine. Its more nimble and agile. Steering is lighter. The Gallardo Spyder on the other hand has a better build quality and the car has the killer look.
you no help lah! hoping for statements along the line of "you crazy or what?!" dont ever buy the "xyz", buy the "abc" instead, etc. you know me, incapable of independent thought. thanks anyway...
ok ok... u asked for it. If u want a car that is functionable that serves as basic transportation...get the 430. If you want the constant stream of girls wanting to get into ur pants and "do-it" in the car... get the Gallardo Spyder. Its quite a difficult choice actually.
i think rara's point to you was simply that the 308 is old. your response to my earlier post was that "the 308 is not old, it's a classic". so now we are all agreed that regardless of whether it's a classic, the 308 is old. thanks.
you've obviously mistaken me for rara! actually, the db9 kind of does both already, haha. i am looking for something that is markedly different from the db9 experience, something a little more raw and in your face...maybe an evo x then.
just kidding, probably too much to drink, if anything, hic! anyways, this may prove a tad controversial but i have always looked at cars as more than just their performance, specs, etc. i have also looked cars from an image point of view if you know what i mean. thus, given my other obsession is football, i have always likened cars to football teams and, without meaning to offend, here are some of my personal analogies: ferrari - man u; equally loved and reviled, long glorious history, loud and brash, undoubted pedigree but sometimes also associated with arrogance and smugness, red is the colour lambo - chelsea; a bit new kid on the block in terms of recent renaissance, elements of nouveau riche, no doubt about new found quality, efficient and ruthless, the new benchmark; aston martin - arsenal; undoubtedly good to look at, question mark alwaays whether it can last the course with the current big two, has always lacked the mass appeal of the other big clubs/marques; porsche - liverpool; rich history and background but living a bit on past glories, nowadays hoping to recapture some of the previous splendour but a bit lacking in focus, quality a bit inconsistent. my two cents' worth, willing to hear what others have to say. dont get too excited though...
did think of the gt3, rs probably too raw and we had an earlier discussion about the colour choice (kumquat vs kermit!). anyway, just talking rubbish at the moment. if i told the wife i was thinking of changing car now, probably kena serve papers! anyway, nice to imagine right? dont cost money what. read the earlier discussion about the $10 million garage with interest. my personal view is that in singapore, if funds permit, a three car garage is sufficient if, like me, you have a family. question is what would go in there.
heh heh! what an excellent analogy, the resemblance really is there. i've heard cars being compared to brands of watches, but never before with EPL clubs. good one! happy CNY everybody!
