Woah Tiong, that's a lot of thoughts on the football club connections.

I like the 430 no doubt & the extra gizmos & sharp racy good look, red as you said it. Bad boy image or millionaire's toy, rich in F1 history. You'd feel like Schummie everytime you strap in & blast away with Tubi NGT.

Gallardo Spyder will be a 'lifestyle car' & I'd choose bloody wild colors in & out for a statement. Stylish & razor sharp looks with a shot of "Flaming Lamborghini" @ the bar. Think funky Miami fashion with a Corhiba cigar (spelling?) or a titanium with racy interior & black suit. Druglord image or that Europe lottery winner (U win in millions of Euros not Singgies)

LIke what that Brit said, girls want to hve S#X in a Lambo, none of which I've encountered so far or maybe because mine is a hardtop & not so erotic Oops exotic I mean. Pardon ;)

Hello, you racist or what? what's wrong with a Rally bred Mit? It's got as much mod material as a 911 & easier on the pocket while whipping up the track better than many other EU makes. Ok ok I must admit it's growing on me especially the one shown @ Detroit .

Maybe get Francis to trim it in connolly or go the RS way!

Heard two actually the other one sounded like a Ferrari, then later a lambo. Fun morning as got to drive my sis V70R hehehe no 27! Quite fun abit harsh though the ride :)

Depends on on the spouse I guess. So many variables, but most importantly the relations with your other half.

Sequential gearbox is like what the name implies....In Sequence/SEQUENTIAL. Means you've to go up thru each gear, no jumpin' to the next cog as in a normal manual,eg: in an 'old' Fcar, you've to engage THIRD gear to bypass the oft-recalcitrant 2nd gear after rolling with first gear...!

In a SQ box, you've to go First, Second and so on till Top gear or down the dale again. No skipping. There's no H-Pattern as we know a normal manual has, rather a straight plane,up and down, springloaded, of course.

Now, in a race SQ Box, there's normally a clutch, just for the first gear. Once yer in 2nd gear, just bang on the gears going up, no need for the clutch. How can it be so ? Because them gear teeth are of the Straight Cut type or in race speak, 'dog-teeth' cogs/gears..(dunno why, maybe dogs have straight teeths unlike cats or pigs????) A straight cut gear is non helical, and therefore there's no need for synchromesh and the upshot is there's minimal drivetrain loss and also the next gear can be engaged almost instantly, although quite abrupt and er..jerky. But yer racin' and time's important...who cares that the box have to be rebuilt...! The position is normally pull against to upshift and push forward to downshift (the pushing means to retard progress/stop..which is most natural, rather than the tippy toes tronic means of forward to go up and pull back to downshift..)

Motorbikes are the first application of SQ boxes and if yer familiar with bikes, they're all SQs.....And in my ex ZZ11/ZX10/CBR6...(NOT on the Duck/Duke though...the bike's pretty frail as it is and a spare box is..er..expensive, although it can be done so say most other riders..), I've always shifted bang on each gear, after 2nd..WITHOUT clutch and the boxes never did fail. The full power/bore on shifts, banging on the gears without lifting the throttle is termed 'Power Shift-ing'....

Now, on the F1/EGear system. The designers have to incorporate some sort of electronic sensors to get the clutchwork done for you. It's not really Sequential except for the fact that the gears go up and down in a plane and because there's a need for the CLUTCH to be depressed, albeit done by the computers/electronically...still ain't no SQ box, if yer ask me...!They can't have a full SQ system because the HELICAL gears can not take a full bore powershift without grinding the cogs off and a Ferrari/Lambo box is er..very expensive! Why don't they go Straight Cut then ? Because a straight cut gear is friggin' noisy, sounds like a supercharger, whining all the time...and of course, jerky.... I know yer Gcar's a bit jerky Jon, but the jerk from an SQ box is tenfold of what you experience in yer Gcar's e-gear... You can practise PowerShifts in any F1/Egear car but you'd notice the dip when the clutch's depressed and bite electronically....

Fezzafella's race MINI might have a straight cut gbox, but I don't think it's SQ. Listen to the whine of the box and you'll get headaches......

I'm writing based on what I know. If I'm off kilter, please comment... It's been years...

Note : The SQ Box lever is normally tall and positioned close to the driver, for leverage. Driving position is the wheel quite close to the driver which is the best driving position when yer tanking on. No straight arms stylo mylo in real racing. Nowadays they've electro cut-out for the motor as you bang on the shifts so that the cogs mesh better as you go up thru the gears. BTCC/DTM cars are all SQ'd and of course F1.....

The Bodybits building along Changi road, quite near to ITE Simei usually has a Orang Lamborghini Gallardo parked in front.
