OK, I'm stumped, puzzed and pulling what little hair I have left out of my head! Here's the poop:

I painted an interior wall with a light tan, semi-gloss eggshell. I needed an extra gallon for some spots I went light on. The guy mixed the right color, but in a different base and I did not catch the mistake. I went back to the paint store and got a gallon in the right base. When I painted over the previous spots, the wrong color was still visible through the newly painted section! I then went over it with KILZ and re-painted. Same problem! I can still see the wrong color through the KILZ and the new, right colored paint!!!

What gives here and what do I need to do to get the wall right?

All your base are belong to us, aye?

Lemme guess - acrylic - oil - kilz - acrylic?

If that's the case, ya gotta let the oil dry for at least a week.

I did and they are as puzzled as I am! I'll have to borrow one of their managers today and run them over to the house to show them (Kelly Moore, good people at our local dealer) the 'wall from hell'!

Get some black paint, 4 bottles of Vodka, and leave Carbon in there for the night. You'll have a masterpiece by the time you wake up.

And a very angry drunk waiting for you.

I figured out the problem (And anyone that paints will get a lesson here!)

The problems was not with the paint or with a wrong batch that Kelly Moore mixed for me......It was with the airless paint sprayer I used! It turns out that when you use a sprayer, the molectular structure of the paint is broken down and the color comes out a shade or two lighter than if it is applied with a brush or a nap roller! The Kelly Moore shop gave me three new gallons yesterday and I re-sprayed the living room and nailed the color match!

pete- 1 thing you should know ......
whenever you paint NEVER NEVER buy individuals gallons of paint. they will never match up perfectly because each gal will not have the same chemical [ amounts ] which will vary in color...... get yourself a 5 gal mixture, this way its all the same amount of chemical... and then you have left over for touch ups later down the road.
