Just doing the final spec on my new 430 Spider (Delivery: May 07). Have ordered most major options (inc. CCB's) but am debating standard vs Daytona style seats. Does anyone have any sage advice on this topic?

According to a local exotic buyer he says the Daytona's are not as overly preferred compared to the stock seats as they once were. I actually prefer the other seats and think they suit the car.

If you could get recing seats that would be my 1st choice. I have the standard seats in my 430 and it seemed to hold you in better than the Daytonas. I guess a lot of it would depend on your own preference as to which looks better.

I like the daytonas myself having sat in a few cars with each style I find the daytonas more to my liking. Electric daytonas with inserts etc. would be great imo. Buy what you like however! I'd try them out if I were you.

daytona looks really nice but doesn't serve much comfort or support compared to regular. with daytona, you should consider getting some deviating stitch or piping or insert to set off the interior.

I find the Daytona's very uncomfortable due to the upper bolsters being very packed and quite uncomfortable! I am constantly searching for a comfortable position.

I'd suggest you try both models, because the standard seats in my opinion, while not electric, offer greater comfort. Since the Daytona's don't offer memory positions, what difference does it make?

I am having material taken out of my upper bolsters for greater comfort. If you are a small person you may not find this to be the case.

Try them both first before you finally order.

I think it is more a question of looks as others have stated.

I, too, find the standard seats more comfortable, and like the appearance better also, so for me it's an easy decision.

The standard seats are more comfortable in my opinion. Too much material (the daytona stripes) in the middle of the seats, makes them uncomfortable.

IMO the carbon race seats are the most comfortable, due to better all round support even though they are firmer. Carbon looks the dogs too. :)

IMO the standard seats in the 360 looked a lot better than the standard seats in the F430. I am not a fan of the stitching pattern on the standard seat. It is matter of taste though. Sit in both and then go from there. That being said the Daytona's will be better for resale.

I went to a dealership and sat in both types of seats before ordering my car.

On the 430, the seats are identical between the standard and Daytona. The only difference are the inserts on the seat. Padding and comfort is very similar between the standard and Daytona inserts, but the Daytona's are a wee bit stiffer with the extra material, but not noticibly so.

Both are comfortable. Most 360's were ordered with Daytona's, but on the 430 the standard seat insert is so comfy, there are a larger percentage of cars with the standard inserts in the seats.

It really comes down to the "look" that you want. I thought the Daytona's looked cool with colored stitching so I ordered them.

basically the side bolsters and sizing is the same on both seats, therefore I would order Daytonas as they have a slight long term value advantadge , but overall choose the look that you like the best

Considering the cost of the option? I doubt it, it would be a rare option that kept full value, or even close to it. Maybe the shields, can't think of anything else offhand. If the money matters, stick with the standard seat.

Get the sport seats. I think a 430 with sport seats will be worth a lot more in long term. Also they look better and work the best.

With the standard seats you can manually adjust the back bolster width. Is the back bolster width adjustable with the Daytonas?

Standard or racing. I dont find the Daytona's comfortable at all, but thats just my opinion.

can someone post a side-by-side picture comparing the daytona seats and the stock seats? That may clear up some of the questions aside from the comfort factor.

No longer available in the U.S. And when they were available they were not a plus for resale.

Hence the adjective "slight"; however almost all wholesalers or dealers I have spoken to place some value on the daytona option

That's my point...if the option cost of the Daytona seats is $4k (I think it's around there) and they are worth $1k when you sell, you have to ask if it's worth the $3k to own them. Since I find them uncomfortable it's an easy question for me.

IMO the daytonas look spectacular. Certain colors with or without contrasting inserts jazz up the sea of leather with a little character. I find the stock seat stitching unattractive and not fitting with the overall beauty of the car. But... your ass should be the judge. I will say when I was looking for a car, daytonas were very high on the priority list (at least as high as shields)
