Well after going through all these threads on tires and tire sizes, I have finally come up with a tire. I was going to go with the Pilot Sport PS2 but every shop that I went to told me this is garbage for japan. i will go with the Potenza RE55S. This is a semi slick tire. The reason why is I am looking for a tire that will fit and be able to use on the track. I Had the Iding Power wheels as you guys seen before but the problem was

    1) way to heavy
    2) Rear Wheel is 295/40/18 <--- Good luck finding race tires for that.
    3) Speedline wheels are 265/40/18. More to work with

Ditto, they do look cool. I'd still put them on even if the performance wasn't anything better than standard road tyres because they look cool.

I can't agree with it. On good dry tracks the performance of this tires is much better then on street tires. The sidewall is realy stiff wich make it hard to get on the wheel. Also the traction is good ofcorse. We tested several semi slicks and this one were the best we had so far. But don't use it on the street on bad days even only a too cold road results in very low traction it doesn't have to be wet. We lost a car on such a day.

They look great...too bad that's a good way to lose your car, though. Cold tire (or street!) and wet tire performance is going to be awful.

Good look for a car show or the drag strip or for a hot locale such as Kuwait, though.

Don't know about the tires you're interested in, but I can vouch for the Michelin PS2s. They are great tires, and I know many people who use and love them ;)

Unfortunately, I got duped when the tire shop put Pilot Sports instead of PS2s on my 355 last summer - PS2s are definitely better.

Your shops are full of BS. The PS2's are the best tire I ever owned. Have them on my 997S and my 355 spider and I love them. Will probably put them on my 360 soon. Only drove in the rain regularly in the 997S and you would think the sun was shining! Stick like glue on the twisties, quiet, and seem to be wearing well for a max perf tire.
