Quite disappointed to see that the new output for the new Maser is still 405hp. In this day an age where many mom and pop cars are running at 300-400hp and exotics doing 450-650, the least maser could do was wring out 450. I know its a marketing issue with Ferrari, but hey come on.... Any thoughts abt this from anyone? Lung?

My view is very simple... it boils down to dollars and cents. The Maserati is a direct competitor to the Porsche 997. So what is the HP of the Porsches? and what is the cost of the Porsches? I think they would be very comparible. So no point comparing Maserati with the Lambos and the Ferraris coz they are not in the same category. Just my two cents.
New M cars would be exciting.... P cars except the GT3s and RS(if they make) POrsches are becoming like BMWs...not exciting anymore

sadly i tend to agree. not sure if it's becos they tend to be a one-trick pony (look, we've just made the 911 even more perfect) or simply becos they are now ubiquitous (cf with other exotics), but there just isn't the thrill when i see one anymore. having said that, and having had a chance to swap stories with the people here, they still make a damn reliable and good car. it's the one car in my garage i never worry about not starting or the electrics dying or breaking down by the side of the road (errr..did i just tempt fate here?).
The RS starts without a problem, even after parking it for more than 3-4 months at a time. The only problem is the battery dying out when its left for extended periods. Yes, older porsches are more exciting, newer porsches are.... I felt that my Porsches are extremely reliable..993RS has been ard for more than 5 years, Mk2 GT3 was around for 1 year..all pretty trouble free. Now...the 914...thats a story all by itself...
