I like it too, looks like a TT got frisky with a 335 coupe.

Now that's a good looking car. Much better looking all around than the 6 series. And that rear end is done perfectly.

I like it. It looks better than the 335i.

Any ideas on the price range?

Car and Driver was estimating somewhere in the 50s for the S5. Figuring 2500 for a navi system (I live by mine) and a few other goodies, probably around 60.

    That's my best guess.

Well, considering its a V8, has 354 hp and 325 lb-ft tq (Left Lane News), I think its worth ~$50K MSRP.

I saw the original press photos from Audi and got very excited about this car. I then saw one in Munich and was honestly VERY disappointed. It looks huge and bulky in person, not nearly sleek like it does in pictures.

I need to see it myself. I am looking at everything from a Ford F150 to this thing as a replacement for my Acura TL (which I love...just want something new). I haven't found a coupe I like styling-wise since my 2001 CLK 55...at least not one I can afford.

I've seen a few driving around Frankfurt.... stunning.

They'll sell well, but 60K is a rip.

I think the A5 will start around $35,000 and the S5 around $47,000, without any options.

That is a beautiful car. I think Audi nailed this one on the head.

Here's a quick photoshop of what I want: an S5 cab. I really want a car like this to put the kids in the back and jump over to LA for the weekend, and spend an afternoon cruising PCH.

BMW is in a slump, and Audi is on a roll.

Just got done reading my new Car and Driver where they tested the S5. Not as quick as the M3, but god it looks great! Still no official price, but C&D estimated their test S5 at $53,000 base/$58,000 as tested. And on http://www.audiusa.com/audi/us/en2/new_cars/A5/s5.html , you can so far only play around with color configurations.
I can't wait for this car to come out. Audi hasn't had a coupe since 1991, and it's long overdue. For me, I'd get it hands down over the M3. Not being a fan of BMW styling, I'd take the Audi equivalent of any BMW. :)

We saw a beautiful black A5 at the track at Spa the end of July when we were there for the FIA-GT 24 Hours of Spa - it certainly caught the attention of many folks who like us were busily engaged in taking photos of it. We participated in the Audi Experience at the ALMS race at Road America a couple weeks back and the head of PR brought a awesome grey with red leather interior S5 to the Audi hospitality area. I found it very comfortable, it reminded me a bit of the R8 in the interior design, I liked the front - very agressive styling, liked the wheels, much bigger car than my A4 - given a choice, I'd probably opt for an RS4 over the S5.

Definately better looking than the M3 (and everything BMW is making lately) but will it have resale value like the M3 ? Probably not.

Guess I am in the minority, but I'll keep my M6
