It is good news, that a clean LP 400, was just sold for a much higher price.

No doubt the LP400S1, will be pulled along to some degree as well. - Albeit it will most likely not, parallel step by step the increase in price of the LP 400.

The reasons for this, is one must appreciate the differences of the S1, over the other cars in the series. Most typical buyers, will not see much difference between the models, other than some nice looking wheels.

Yes. Too cool to leave well enough alone? Methinks.
WHY do people rampantly modify these cars? For the love of god, just let them be.... LOL.

An old-time collector once taught me: If it doesnt look right and its not being represented TRUTHFULLY, you can always politely pass....unless the price is low enough to where you can get the modified items CORRECTED.

All BS and threats aside....Scott thinks this is a gang up on him and takes it personally. If you buy cars and list them for sale the next day, you are not an just an owner, your acting as some sort of business. If you buy a car that is not 100% stock or that has some sort of known history and then that car is brought up on a public forum, people are going to say what they know. You can not take it personally. If you are such an enthusiast you would know right from wrong before you buy the cars. Maybe if you did not fight with everyone and asked questions on the forums you would know whats wrong with these cars before you buy them. Then you would not get so upset when the cars are spoken of publicly because you would not have bought that car.

Getting hold of them is easy...holding on to them is hard...getting a good one is even harder!

Trust me, 4 Countachs and I lost count on the women :)

This ex-Monaco Formula One pace car seems to age just like a fine wine. Unmodified and unmolested (unlike some we can think of) I think this car has fallen into the right hands.
Enjoy it Brian and I hope our talks helped. Depress that throttle pedal all the way down for a fleeting moment and savour what the Countach is all about!!

Today the original Sebring mirror cowls got a shot of "Nero Cangiante" in preparation for re-mounting in the 'sympathetic' restoration of my LP400.

Gary promises exactly 392bhp in the 'factory tuned' engine....right Gary? Gary?

Joe,
I cannot thank you enough for your helpful insight and especially taking the time to talk with me. I greatly appreciate it and look forward to meeting you in person at the Reunion.
I can assure you that the pedal has been depressed many times today and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great roads, great weather and time to enjoy it.

LOL. They tell me Kansas is as 'flat as a pancake' and from your pictures it seems its true! My Miura SV 4884 lived with its first owner Jack Robinson of Goddard, Kansas. He was a Bonneville Speed Trialler and would drive the car direct from Kansas to Utah :-0 on trips during which lore has it that he found 7,800 rpm in 5th :-0 180mph? There were no cars on the roads in those days....I also learned that the Goddard Sherriff's department after duly noting that Robinson clearly had the fastest car in Goddard, posted a unit near his house on weekends to catch him speeding. LOL.

I found that with a good Countach, the women fell nicely into the picture.

Jack sounds like my kind of person!

Yes, it is pretty flat here except for the far eastern part of the state. The western part is wide open though and extremely flat. You can see towns miles before you get to them.
Sorry but I do not think that I would ever sell it, not even for 175K or even 200K for that matter. It is not a perfect car but that is just the way I like them, you can tell that it has been driven and enjoyed.
