was attempting to install a new race type seat in my 308 gt4 today, it fit perfectly on the stock seat mounts , but now i dont! Is there any way to remove the stock mounts without taking awaythe ability to reinstall the stock seat someday?
    thanks

As long as you don't cut or grind anything away from the car you should be ok(obviously). If you need to make any modifications I would recommend modifing the seat instead. What needs to be done exactly?

    Cheers!

The new seat as supplied is way too high, im 6'2. It looks like the seat mount is welded into the car. I took your advice & disassembled the seat & it fits perfectly with the supplied tracks & spacers removed. So need to do a little fabricating , i dont care about adjusting as i have the seat all the way back normally, but I do want to be able to put the original seat back if I ever find the need.

Ive owen this car for 19 years & have strived to keep it original as possible, but i have some pretty cool moderns that I have been driving way too much & neglecting the little dino. So just did a major service, plan on some comfort & convenience projects, some wheel/tire upgrades & plan on driving it more than I have been in the last few years . In the old days it was my daily driver & my first track car.

Be interested to hear what seat you've gone with and how this ends up as I am thinking of doing the same. I was worried about getting the new seat low enough so I could get my helmet in OK (I'm 6'1")...
