You stooges are crazy. Can you just finish the 355 tbs project first?! Personally, while I like keeping it Ferrari, the Corvette/Mustang parts on 550 tbs sounds just too interesting. Son of FrankenFerrari!

BTW, forced induction is so much less complicated. :D

There are no bowtie nor blue oval parts on this project. All bosch components with hand fabricated assemblies. I should have the injector boss' welded in, fuel rails mounted and throttle linkage completed by the weekend.

    Have you seen these injectors
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mototron-60-Injectors-1995-2004-Cobra-Camaro-Corvette_W0QQitemZ140085789790QQihZ004QQcategoryZ33554QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

These are 60lb I bought for my blower motor, but I'm pretty sure they come in lower flow too. They have a really small OD so they can be mounted at a better angle....at least that's what I'm thinking. The OEM QV intake had a curve so the injector could spray right at the valve, but my runners, like yours, are now straight making hard to get a good injector angle.

couple pics of injector bosses welded in, fuel system mocked up, and cam- cover breather system with drysump breather on right. Intake goes to coatings on monday, along with some exhaust parts. The breather cans look too high and too big because of the camera. They are perfect size and neatly out of the way. The stock airbox mounts will be removed and relocated further rearward to put the modified stock box where the upper muffer use to be.

Dave it all looks very good,my only concern is that your catch tank for the oil is over the top of your right exhaust,i had something very similar to your one, i am on my 3rd breather design at the moment, as on the track it must build huge presure because it blows oil out of the filter at the top,i dont want anything to happen to that lovely engine.
Sorry if you already have it covered just checking.

    Andy.

NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you that haven't noticed, have a look at the plenums on the 430, they are designed pretty much the same way Dave has his.

Eventually I think I'm gonna end up with something like this one my car.

    I love being a Stooge.

The exhaust on this 348 is fabricated to enter the custom X-muffler at the bottom, so interferance is not an issue. Also, drysump engines scavenge more oil than they pump, so there is a negative pressure in the crankcase thus pushing the excess scavenged air into the drysump tank. My catch can is just high enough so the oil shouldn't be pushed into the can. Also, if the drysump tank is too full of oil, it will always push oil out. thanks Andy

Got the ceramic coated parts back today. Still have some final details to finish. It should go back in the chassis next week. Then I have to mock up the airbox and send that out for Powdercoat. Still waiting for the bodyshop to get my bumpers and rear deck back to me. Also have to finish the custom brake conversion.

Well, hooked up the IAC valves and plumbing. Ran the new harness for the dual A/F monitor. changed fuel filters on the chassis, then discovered a factory flaw. The pressure lines from the pump to the bottom of the filter have to be upgraded. Did you ever look inside the 90 degree fitting on the bottom of the filter. Its very small, the smallest orfice on the entire fuel system. So, I'm going to get 4 (2 for each side) metric to -6 adapters, four AN 90's and make my own feed lines. I can't believe the short, small abrupt 90 on the factory feed line, its worthless. Stock ID for supply fitting is .185 about 3/16. The fitting ID on the fuel filter is .230 about 1/4. The AN -6 fittin ID is .293 just unter 5/16. A .185 hole can't support much HP. The pump volume is fine, just trying to stuff the fuel through a straw. I build all my tuner cars with a minimum of AN-8 hose for naturally aspirated and AN-10 for forced induction. So, that gets done this week, and the motor goes back in this next weekend. Some airbox fabrication and I'll be good to run. Still have to finish big brakes and get bumpers back from bodyshop. Can't drive until all this crappy salt is washed off the streets. Usually be end of march first part of April, off to the dyno.

One would have to have a fuel pressure gauge to look at while at full throttle on the dyno??? This would be something good to know/do  making sure we have good fuel pressure under load @ full throttle!

Well son-of-a-gun! So are you putting the new fittings on the existing lines, or are you gonna run new lines, with the new fitting on them of course, from the pump to the filter?

Fatboy has some on his ride. It would be interesting to see what the pressure is a WOT.

You will loose your fuel volume before you start loosing pressure on a guage. Anyway, the stock feed line is just that, stock, for a stock engine. My engine is not stock nor is the fuel injection system. I'm just relaying my findings and fixes. The bottom pic shows the connection between the fuel filter inlet and the feed line from the pump. The stock 14mm threaded filter fitting has a .235 hole, the stock fitting on the feed line has a .185 hole !! The new setup has .297 hole thru the fitting and .271 hole modified into the -6AN fitting. The middle pic shows the connection between the fuel pump outlet and the fuel pump feed line. The stock 12mm threaded fitting has a .230 hole, the stock fitting on the feed line has a .250 hole. The new setup has .297 hole thru the fitting and and .271 hole modified into the -6AN. The fuel pump outlet bore is .275. Simple and effective.
