I have a few pictures to share of the beginning of the Ortega Run:

    www.breckrothage.com/brecksblog.htm

Go to the link for FCA Ortega Run.

I'll have more put up throughout the week so I hope you will check later as well.

I am sure Frank and Jay will have some great shots as well, including the whole trip. I have got to make the run next year!

An incredible time today - extra special thanks to Tom, Wayne and Zack for an amazing day! Hit a bit of rain in the 166 Spyder Corsa, but it just added to the experience! :)

209 pics on their way to www.autoworksphoto.com

thanks for the pictures Jay, I told you when we left that things were gonna get a little rough. how many chances do you get to do 80+ MPH in the rain in a 1948 Ferrari race car. glad I brought the goggles :)

keep the pictures coming today was an incredible day with a great turnout of vintage cars to go along with all the modern ones

Big, no, huge thanks to Tom and Zac for the thrill of a lifetime. Taking the drivers seat of the 1948 166 SC for the drive was so incredible, and then we stopped and switched cars so I ended up in the same position in the 1954 375 MM! Too bad they had moved the controls to the "passenger" side. :D Still an unbelievable experience. And after the great drive and delicious lunch at the Thornton Winery, we made a stop at Tom's farm. What a wonderfully odd and enchanting Ferrari fantasyland. Thanks also to Steve for the Lusso ride, and Wayne for the generous offer. Decisions, decisions. I shot about 1400 pics today, but I'll only post half of them after I throw out the horrible ones. So look for 3 albums (start, drive, finish) of about 200 each by tomorrow.

Most of the dumped ones were from inside your car. Was a bit bumpier than I realized. ;)

    Hey Breck,

The second pic is Kirk's 365 GTC/4. They made them in the early '70s, but I'm not sure what year his is. 1971-1973, I think. 4.4-liter V12 like the Daytona. Many say the best sounding Ferrari ever. This is a 2+2 with small back seats like the modern 456 and 612.

The third is a late-'50s 250 GT LWB "Tour de France." Like the rest of the 250 series they generally had a 3.0-liter V12. The TdF got its nickname because they completely dominated that endurance race during the mid-'50s. I think this one was a Series III with covered headlights and the single louver on the rear quarter window.

Hope that helps. You can do a search here at f-chat for those models to find more info or poke around in the vintage section near the top of the home page.

Thanks Frank. That helps alot. I'll start fishing around in the vintage section, now that you told me where to start. I like to give a bit of info with the pictures on the blog.
