I am getting a little more serious about a purchase of a 348 and an important thought came into my mind. My Fcar loving wife asked if the 348 would fit in our garage. The garage in question has an 8 foot wide single door with a maximum inside width of 9.5 feet. The walls are finished with 1 inch foam to protect the opening of the doors. So my question to all of you 348 owners is; do I have enough space in my garage for the 348? VTC4198 has been very helpful in answering many of my questions, but I forgot to ask him this one. Many thanks in advance for your help. I am looking forward to joining "The Brotherhood"

I just went out to the garage and measured mine outside tip of mirror to outside tip of the other mirror. I get 78 inches, with an allowance for eyeball plumb line. 6.5 feet should give you just enough room to skinny out the partially open door.

I used to have a single car garage. One just has to let your passengers out "before" you pull in. Then bias the parking position towards the passenger side.

Looks like a 348 is 74.6" wide, your garage opening is 96" and the width is 114" minus 2" for the foam...

That's only about 18.5" clearance per side if you're a talented parker (112" minus 75", divide by 2).

I agree with Goth, you're just going to have to let your passenger out first. Those doors are pretty long, and you're going to want to leave yourself enough room to get out on the driver's side without doing a limbo.

If you want to be precise about this, get one of these 348 guys to measure the distance of the rear tip of the door from the car body when it's open to its first detent position.

The foam is a good idea. My 328 is parked in the right bay of a two-car garage, but I always give it wide berth when I pull the Jeep in to the left side - so the Jeep door tends to open (gently!) against the drywall. Not good for a car you care about...

That's a sin to see a Japanese car next to a Ferrari!

    What were you thinking?

    Fix that problem, Dude!

+1. I don't think I could get in and out of the 348 with 18 or even 24 inches of clearance for the door to swing. You might have to rig up some kind of crane to hoist you in and out of the car.

Setup a lanyard from the ceiling that hooks onto a chain block&tackle that suspends you from the ceiling and helps you manouver in and out of the 348 in the confined space. :D:D:D

What's behind the left wall? Couldn't you knock it down or just partially knock it down and rebuild it with maybe with maybe 2 to 3 feet extra garage width.

Why doesn't he sell both his cars and buy a 360 and a Fiat Punto?

I agree. Not sure why, but the best ones seem bland and then they go downhill from there...

Finally, a worthy cause to rally around!

    LOL!

That pic was for the G35, not the 348 :D.

Someone wanted to see the color or something, I don't remember.

Even "part" of the 348 is hot looking ;)
