It was up for sale last year in Monterey. I think it sold for over $1 million.

WOW look at the MEAT on the back!! Even flared the fender to fit it, sheesh. Anyone have any idea on power upgrades that would necessitate such width on the rears?

Geez, that is an assload of tire for 72. I actually kind of like it in a vintage sort of way.

I know what you mean....and I like it too! Correct-period-tuning-ish.

Curious to know why a coupe would bring in that much though dough. Perhaps previous ownership? I know they are getting up there. But close to $400+....

Love the wheel design (although on the car it does look awkward) - is it off any other Ferrari?

Too me the car is sitting too high, the tires/wheels do not fit neatly in the fenders. I've seen Series 2 Comp cars with the same issue, as well as ones that look 'just right'. I imagine with these factory mods it would be more welcome at a number of events that the standard car might not.

I remember seeing the collection as a kid and he had a Jeep Grand Wagoneer with a 365 GTC/4 motor. I thought that was pretty cool. - George

I saw that car in person but at the time it had a different set of wheels. My understanding is that the wheels are from custom dies-of which only one or two sets were made. The big wheels in the back caused some stability /handling issues as I recall.

They needed that room in the rear. The rear susp has a lot of travel. If you see one with big rubber and nice tidy fender gaps it isn't being driven very hard. Even with the big space they will still rub.

With stock power the std tires were too small.

Most of Bill's cars were modified to some degree or other. They were done in house, he did own the West Coast distributorship after all. I was under the impression Bill Rudd did much of the mechanical mods and repairs on Bill's cars when he was there.
