If I get the nads to pony up for a slightly used '04 360 with manual transmission and 5000 miles on the clock, I would have to make it my daily driver. Understanding nobody's crystal ball is crystal clear - If I paid $160000 today, what do you think the car might be worth ten years from now with 55000 miles on it - assuming all required service, etc., etc. The dealer says 50%. What do you guys think?

NO crystal ball here but you would be putting at least double the mileage of the typical "garage queen" which depreciates about $5k per year, so I was thinking you would double that to $10,000 per year....So, $60,000?? Which, at that point, why would you care about the depreciation? Why wouldn't you just keep it?

    sounds about right
but if you have the money now and worried what's going to happen in 10 years then the car is not for you.
if you are going to drive it and enjoy it so say what the hell,
    have fun in life man.
if you are going to buy it, trust me a Ferrari drives like no other car.

You'd be better off buying a Stradale! I happen to have one for sale! ;)

I kept my 2003 360 Modean for almost 3 years and lost $6,600 for each year when I traded it in for a F430.

Operative phrase - "traded it in for a F430" whereby the dealer no doubt made some nice change. Surely the hickey would have been more severe on an outright sale.

01 360 driven 7000 miles and 3.5 years later I lost 20%. It was worth every penney to me.

even if you "lose" 50% don't you think that is worth the price to drive and own the car?

Go buy a New SUV and sell it 4-5 years later. You will "lose" at least 60% of it's value.

    50% in 10 years is a bargin.

    Maybe not sure.

The dealer will sell any of my cars (except the Toytota :)) for a 5% fee. The 360 I turned in is being sold for about what I paid for it so my loss would have been less than $8k. he was willing to put my 360 on the floor anytime while i was waiting for the F430 to show up. he offered to put it on the floor when I was seriously considering puying a Porsche Gt and walking away from Ferrari

Never know for sure. But as the other post said it was worth every penny. I agree

Why not just buy a nice 99 or 2000 360 if you are worried about the $$.

160 is presumably for a Modena. Thought about putting the sum toward an 01 of 02 spider which might depreciate less.

even if financial constraint isn't a subject of doubt, this is likely your best option if you are using it as a daily driver. i have had two 360s, 99 and 2000. they are both bullet proof.
