I cant wait....this is even more painful than waiting for the RS4.... http://www.r8audi.com/gallery/data/500/EvoP1-2.jpg http://www.r8audi.com/gallery/data/500/EvoP3-4.jpg http://www.r8audi.com/gallery/data/500/EvoP5-6.jpg http://www.r8audi.com/gallery/data/500/EvoP7-8.jpg http://www.r8audi.com/gallery/data/500/EvoP9-10.jpg
Are you going to get one? I was talking with a friend in Vegas who has an RS4, he is going to wait for a V10 (if they do it), since the R8 has the same engine his car has already. The dealer did take him for a short ride in the R8 and he said it was great though. I've seen them "in the wild" in Vegas and the fit and finish is pretty amazing on them. The interior looks fantastic, especially the console and beefy 6spd gate from the Gallardo.
yup, def getting one. I dont think its fair to say since one has an RS4 they arent getting an R8 just because it has the same engine. The performance characteristics and features of both cars are completely different. Just because someone has an S8 does that mean they shouldn't get the gallardo? Maybe you should talk some sense into your friend and tell him to get an R8 and then trade it in for an R10
D.R.O.O.L!!! What a masterpiece! Saw the one on Park Avenue. Knock-out. See a picture of a red one too. Did you happen to catch that S? (BTW, did you get my PM?)
yeah the red one is nice. Yeah I did get your PM. Ive just been so busy. I was gonna email you buy didnt know where to email you. Is the norm ok?
i agree with you on that shivam, on a black car it will look nice. but it looks out of place on that red one, and even on that grey one im not really liking it that much.
when are they supposed to be out on showroom floors? I love the white with the carbon side panel and the black on black.
supposed to be hitting showrooms around aug from what i hear. but many dealers wont keep it on the showroom floor. Most will be in the hands of customers.
Now, I am actually a fan of the CF side blades and see them as a must have option... My concern for that car will be resale. A car guy understands that car, but the average person will see an audi badge. If you are looking to impress at the country club I don't think that is the car. That is not to say it isn't a great car, but the average joe is the one really impacting residuals. Look at the RS4. An 06 can be had with a few miles for $63k on ebay (or under) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-Audi-RS4-Sedan-quattro_W0QQitemZ130082253900QQihZ003QQcategoryZ6055QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item130082253900 Great car, but really who outside of a car guy is going to spend $73k + tax on an A4.
I am absolutely in love with this car, cant wait to drive one! Check out this video http://www.windingroad.com/multimedia/issue-18/audi-r8-video
I dont really buy my cars for resale. Yeah id like to take as little of a hit as the last guy, but if a car is that awesome, ill pay the bucks to drive it. When im shifting through the gears on a track having a blast, the last thing I am thinking about is what the car is going to be worth a year or two later.
I guess I'm too much of a bean counter to be a car guy.... Resale aside, I think it is a great car (with the CF blades)

That's a great link. Loved this quote: "Et voilà! The R8 shares some developmental DNA with the Lamborghini Gallardo and with Audi's Le Mans - winning racecar, also called the R8 (gene pools no one should argue with). Though relatively diminutive, this R8 has an aggressive road stance that wows on sight. With a menacing scowl on its chiseled face, dagger-throwing LED-accented headlamps, holy-hell air intakes and a back end prominent enough to make J.Lo envious, the R8 has unique road presence." When I was in London, I picked up Car, TopGear, AutoCar and EVO - each had reviews about the R8 (2 were cover story articles), and there was unanimous praise about the quality, looks and performance. This is a game-changer for Audi.
