Charness Harness Extinguisher Mount

Does anyone know of a place I can get one of these bad boys? Tillman, when you showed me the one mounted in your car, I think you mentioned having gotten it from a guy in Canada was it?

I spoke, via email, to Mike Charness thinking he made them only to find out that he just designed the thing and does not sell them. (He just posts the plans on his web site so people can make their own)

Just thought I'd check to see if I could find one already manufactured before I take the plans to a metal shop and have one made.

Any feedback is appreciated.

 

I got mine from a guy in Canada too, Peter I believe it was. Been in a long time since I've spoken to him, don't spend much time hanging out with the Canada guys these days. If you're going to have one made, I'd suggest shortening the 'legs' so it doesn't stick out so far. I NEVER move my seat, so I have it a few inches further out than I'd like.

 

Yea... that was another concern I had after reading some of the threads on this thing.

I never move my seat either and was thinking I should potentially shorten it. I did not get a good look at yours, but checked out Tillman's. Is yours the same length as his? (Keep your mind out of the gutter on that question!)

 

I think mine just looks longer.

I'm reasonably sure they're made from the exact same design.

 

Actually, Jim arranged the group buy many years ago -- they're from the same batch from the same guy...
