you guys seriously dont have a problem with the jerkiness? was speaking to you and jon about it. one of the reasons i did not (and may not) jump is because i cant imagine having to put up with the jerkiness. does it happen in the new cars as well? leslie says it does not happen in the manual so that's a thought. its like dating jlo and finding out that she has halistosis!
honestly, i will do anything to get rid of the jerkiness. actually the jerkiness is bearable ( only very slight jerks most times), what i hate is when the car is on a slope with grooved roads, like my office car park. actually if you go up the slope with a little speed, it wont be a problem. but with my car park, the barrier is right at the top of the slope so i gotta inch the car up. thats the tricky part coz if i dun time it right, the car will stall (happened a few times) and all the chauffuers sitting around waiting for the big bosses watching will be thinking " cant even drive , wanna buy lambo !". so malu !!
apa halistosis ?? the jerkiness is not that bad la, except the car park situation i talked abt earlier.
halitosis is bad breath. some would say that the biggest jerk in the gcar is the one behind the wheel (joke).
I believed it is true for the 06' or newer cars which have exhaust valves as standard. Tubi does not have the valves thus no back pressure. 04/05 has no bypass valves.
Only on higher revs would one see benefits of a free flowing exhaust. Tradeoff would be a lower bottom end. Thats what the flaps are for. If I remember correctly some after market tuners have a mod exhaust with the flaps intact. Koenig perhaps?
Bro, face the truth. You can't manage the bugger Joking lah. Have you not tried the 1st button closest to you on the centre console? The one that shows the butt of the car with tyres marks? It works, adjusts the ECU to make the throttle less sensitive & good only for slow speed driving. I understand your problem, the throttle is very erratic especially after a cold start eg. leaving your office after a long day. It'll cure out after a short drive. In fact, I use that button everytime I negotiate tight areas or carpark ramps. You can hear/feel when the car is about to jerk & I'll release the throttle then step on it lightly. Works most of the time but car gets a split-sec out-of-breath feel. I practise this on fast upshifts as well & it makes the gears change smoother than most autoboxes, so smooth that you wouldn't feel any gearchanges & the car just speed forward. Learnt it from my Alfa Selepeed but not quite necessary on the Sport mode since it's very responsive.
Software upgrade is only to match the new clutch. With the new clutch "F" it is still not as smooth as the 06' due to our taller 1st gear.
Bro, you just got to be firm with your throttle control and use left foot brake. The worst will happen when the sensor cannot tell if your foot is on the throttle or on the brake.
Or the Golf GTI which is even smoother than the F430, but where is the emotion and occasion driving it? Sometimes you just need something that doesn't work too well.
Des, we got to live around it but it would be an overall winning package if it does without that problem. Guess we can't have everything isn't it? I like Porsche for it's overall driving capability & superb all round views as we know there's often many blindspots in exotics but then the shape...... That's like marrying the perfect wife who does almost everything for you but we bad ass folks like the mistress thrills so we go for Ferrari & Lamborghinis I'm quite sure the manual is the perfect combi since you can have absolute control over the biting point but you know how Singgies are, lazy & always going after new techs. So, when you dumping the "wife"
Des, honestly only the 1st few weeks of ownership, not anymore now. It is true the manual will not have such issues.
Yes, yes my friend offered his F430 @ a seductive price but wrong colour lah & I still cannot afford, must live within means my friend. Maybe one day in the near future, @ a press of a button, our car will change colours or even shape using hologram projections.
Phil, it's official. The Superleggera is out & the specs too. Not a lot of physical change, looks like the green one was a bodykit afterall. Did Mel said the OMV will be S$300K+? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140457 530PS & 1360kg, 0-100 in 3.8 secs even the glass cover is now polycarbonate but I don't like the wing
Lockheed's F-22 Raptor Gets Zapped by International Date Line Six Lockheed F-22 Raptors have Y2K-esque glitch of their own over the Pacific Lockheeds F-22 Raptor is the most advanced fighter in the world with its stealth capabilities, advanced radar, state of the art weapons systems and ultra-efficient turbofans which allow the F-22 to "supercruise" at supersonic speeds without an afterburner. The Raptor has gone up against the best that the US Air Force and Navy has to offer taking out F-15s, F-16s and F/A-18 Super Hornets during simulated war games in Alaska. The Raptor-led "Blue Air" team was able to rack up an impressive 241-to-2 kill ratio during the exercise against the "Red Air" threat -- the two kills on the blue team were from the 30-year old F-15 teammates and not the new Raptors. But while the simulated war games were a somewhat easy feat for the Raptor, something more mundane was able to cripple six aircraft on a 12 to 15 hours flight from Hawaii to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. The U.S. Air Force's mighty Raptor was felled by the International Date Line (IDL). When the group of Raptors crossed over the IDL, multiple computer systems crashed on the planes. Everything from fuel subsystems, to navigation and partial communications were completely taken offline. Numerous attempts were made to "reboot" the systems to no avail. Luckily for the Raptors, there were no weather issues that day so visibility was not a problem. Also, the Raptors had their refueling tankers as guide dogs to "carry" them back to safety. "They needed help. Had they gotten separated from their tankers or had the weather been bad, they had no attitude reference. They had no communications or navigation," said Retired Air Force Major General Don Shepperd. "They would have turned around and probably could have found the Hawaiian Islands. But if the weather had been bad on approach, there could have been real trouble. "The tankers brought them back to Hawaii. This could have been real serious. It certainly could have been real serious if the weather had been bad," Shepperd continued. "It turned out OK. It was fixed in 48 hours. It was a computer glitch in the millions of lines of code, somebody made an error in a couple lines of the code and everything goes." Luckily for the pilots behind the controls of the Raptors, they were not involved in a combat situation. Had they been, it could have been a disastrous folly by the U.S. Air Force to have to admit that their aircraft which cost $125+ million USD apiece were knocked out of the sky due to a few lines of computer code. "And luckily this time we found out about it before combat. We got it fixed with tiger teams in about 48 hours and the airplanes were flying again, completed their deployment. But this could have been real serious in combat," said Shepperd. Image Unavailable, Please Login
