Hello everybody, I've been reading through some of the posts and it sounds like a great group of people here. I've been a mechanic for the last 12 years with a year at Los Gatos Ferrari. Aarons car is in good hands but I need your guys suggestions on transporting this from FL to CA. I never paid much attention to this kind of thing before, but I just got a quote from exotic car transport for $1900. I'm thinking about flying out and driving it back myself but tow dollies/trailors that I have rented in the past are good for run of the mill cars at best. I look forward to chat'n it up in the near future.

PS Admin I left an "s" out in the user name, please help!

You would be well off to contact InterCity Lines at 1-800-221-3936 or www.intercitylines.com.

Highly recommended, and the transportation would probably be $1,900.00-$2,000.00 as a guess.

You may have better luck with transport firms than me, but for me, I've been told that they won't pick up the spare (or in this case disassembled) parts to the car.

I actually like your user name without the "S" -- reminds me of Mater Tomater in Cars!

Congrats on your purchase! My only suggestion would be to physically go pick up the car and ensure you get all the little bits and pieces that might be in boxes or storage bins. Even the screws and bolts on the 348 are pricey, so if you can avoid re-purchasing a lot of that stuff, you'll be in better shape.

If you open-trailer the car home, you might want to mask off the fog lamps and such. On my 348ts, I'd also tape the window seals to ensure a rain shower doesn't inadvertently soak the interior.

    Welcome to the 348 world!!

Congrats on the purchase. I would check the CA section to see if anyone has additional space on a carrier that might be going to Pebble Beach and hitch a ride for less $$$. I would not hesitate to transport that particular car on an open carrier and just cover it for the ride. It is going to be getting wsome serious mechanical work done when you get it, so a complete detail would be expected at the end of the mechanical work anyways. Glad a mechanic got the car and will keep it on the road. Good luck!
    :)

I helped Tmobileguy unload his car off the trailer after he retrieved it from Shelton. Sorry he didn't have the time to put it back together...

Highly recommended by myself as well. I will never have anyone besides Intercity Lines move cars for me again. I have used them many times, including a recent move of an F355 from FL to CA, and I will use them again.

I think it cost me a hair under $1900.

    Congrats ToMater without the To!

$1900 seems fair from Tallahassee to CA. Make sure they will get all the parts before you ship. If not PM me and I will get you the # of the company that transported my car.

Aaron, we hope to have you back in the Ferrari fold soon. Next time you head south drop me a PM so we can hang again.

The 308 is doing great. Once you've owned a Ferrari, it's hard to be w/o one. You'll be back. If you are ever back in Tally, give me a yell!
