I realize there is another thread about the Honda F1 car's livery, but did you guys now, that you can actually put your name on that car?

I think this is such a cool idea, that I fully support it and have given them some $$$. And I will replace some light bulbs with fluorescent ones.

I'm going to tell you... last month I installed about 20 compact fluorescent bulbs around the house. Did I do it to save money? No. I just got tired of constantly changing bulbs all the damn time. These things should last until Luca is in High School (and hopefully out of diapers, too) and probably save some money too.

If you haven't tried CF bulbs yet, I encourage you to get a few. Be sure to get the ones rated as 'indoor' light. Anything else will have an annoying blue-tint that'll drive your spouse insane.

I installed about 30 of them throughout the house. The lighting quality is perfect, the color is correct, and now I don't have to nag Mrs. JRR about turning out the lights when she leaves the room.

It's my little attempt to be green.

Speaking of which, I'll have another Heineken.

I'm looking for dimmable PAR 38 or R40 Flourescent flood light style bulbs for my home.
All on/off standard bulbs changed awhile ago.
What PO's me is the can in the attic has no insulation around it to allow the heat from a standard bulb to dissipate. Net result; heat flows in and out through it 365 days a year on or off. If I squint my eyes just right I can see the money flowing through them.
But dimmable! We can send a man to the Moon...

    Oh yeah..... racing forum....
    Neat colors on the car.

Well since I already do most of what's on the list, I chose turn the water off when I brush my teeth (also on the monocoque) since I am lazy and leave it on every once in a while. I think Honda has a great idea going here and fully support it.

They give me a headache so you must have been blind to buy them or you will go blind from using them. Not funny when you have to explain a joke I admit.

I haven't been funny since I did my own lobotomy. sorry.

There is no minimum I think, but they do want your credit card.

I picked the right side pod since that is where the USA are painted on.

I picked the nose cone, and pledged to walk or bike to work.

If they REALLY wanted to raise some serious coin for the effort, they should have painted a naked picture of Al Gore straddling the car, with every $1 pledged going towards painting a swatch of clothing on him!

I had low Watt florescents installed in a building I was a co-owner at and the savings in electric were tremendous. We recouperated the cost of the bulbs in 2 1/5 months. They lasted twice as long by simply changing them in service intervals instead of when they blow out and I took some of the "old ones" and used them in my personal properties and they lasted another 3 years, some went out in a year, some in two, most in 3.

    Serious savings.

Those of you that think Al Gore is an idiot for bringing up an issue that the entire world is recognizing as the most serious threat to human mankind, except the US, who of course is the highest polluter in the world, do it for your own pocket books. You'll save a bundle!

Not a bad idea at all. Honda couldn't find a good enough sponsor, so they made a superb idea, let the general public be the sponsors and attract corporations who want to be looked upon as environmentally friendly. They get a lot of respect from me for doing this, now they are my 2nd favorite F1 team, go Jenson. Front Wing, turn thermo down 1C :)

Smart, smart, smart people. Getting respect from environmentalists, selling cars and sponsoring an F1 team, Honda does it all. I am justing waiting to see how long it takes the other Japanese F1 team to catch Honda's drift, because Toyota hasn't accomplished anything special in F1 to date.
