iMmobile HOS or Megaexpensive HOS either way, when your car doesn't start it is a HOS no matter what brand of car
Thanks, she scrubs up ok. M = Modern HOS. I expected the battery to be flat as it hasn't moved in a few months. Unfortunately it isn't easy to get to the battery; but after much swearing and tool throwing I got to it. No worries, hit it with the power pack thought I. Nope, just ominous clicking noises. So it is on the charger, fingers crossed and all that. Next (unexpected) drama was getting a temporary permit for the parade. For the first time VICROADS made it difficult. Got it in the end; but it took an hour to make it happen *sigh*
Dunno mate, it should have started with a kick in the guts from the battery pack. That was a bit of a worry
Unless the batt pack was half dead? See what happens tomorrow. I did not drive my 348 for 6 weeks and it was flat, of course. That batt is from 2004, so it is past its use by date. Starts ok now, but dont think there is much left in the old girl. Will have to replace this year some time, before she lets me down.
Yep....... Battery acid is not nice. Eats your clothes away like nothing and eventually damages everything in its path. Paint, wires, plastic, rubber ect......
It grumbled into life this morning, so barring some other unforeseen problem it will be there on Saturday. Now I just have to put the thing back together
just a big bit of yellow lego Scott did you get the token kingswood backfire/bang/pop routine when she first turned over?
I don't have work on saturday til 5:30, so i'm going to head up there and take some photos Unfortunatly every man and thier dog will be up there.. Lygon st will be packed.
Nope, its fuel injected so a lot more civilized than your average Kingswood. Still best not to let it idle in confined spaces though. Loud and it stinks now that it is sans cats.
Just read through the entire thread, has the car been driven at all since the 60th anniversary parade? I couldn't come to grips with what you've done to bring it up to the standard it is now..
No it hasn't moved since it played a leading role as a gold fish in the Lygon Street fish bowl. It can't be driven on the street and there have been no track days, so it hasn't been used I am afraid. Yes it took a lot of work to transform the car from "very nice" to "perfect" but that's the way I like my cars. Now it's up to that standard it doesn't take much to keep it there. My 308 is 99% as good as the day it's restoration was finished in 1999.
Don't you ever get tempted into going into the garage, sitting in the seat and giving it some revs? I know if it was my car i sure would! What about sandown? they have a few track days with the wrx and skyline club.. I've seen a few ferrari's and porsche's attending those.. Not saying you dont use it, but make the most of the fact that you're lucky enough to own an F50.. make up an excuse to take it somewhere to take it for a burn!
