I imagine "do you drive it in the rain/snow/mud (hehe funny TRs)?" has been asked alot. I've got another one for everyone.

Whats the % of time you drive your F-car for errands and such (breakfast, work commute, getting groceries) VERSUS the % of the time you drive it as Enzo intended (whether on the track or just on a lonely country road)?

Several people responded to the "drive in the rain" thread with "sure when I'm going to breakfast" and the like. I'm curious as to how much time these babies just tootle around town.

I know, I know, I imagine the responses will vary with yr/model AND by garage queen/hi-mileage driver.

    Just another curiousity question.

Careful, there is a classic "statistics game" than can be played here! By "time" do you mean "time in the driver's seat" or "miles driven!"

We drive our cars at a rate of speed, so even though I only use my car 10% of the "time" miles-wise for errands, the other 90% of miles (top down in the twisties underneath the Colorado sun), I'm haulin' ass! So 100 errand-miles might take me four hours (averaging 25 miles per hour), whereas a 100 mile trip to Estes Park and back might take only one hour... :)

Miles-wise, this is a hard thing to estimate... As a starting point, I would say about 30% of the miles I've put on the 328 are due to weekend rallies (i.e. foliage tours and such), 30% from other local runs (day tours, breakfast runs to Estes Park), 20% for general driving (errands, mall trips, just cruising), and 20% misc (driving from Albuquerque to Denver, once-or-twice-a-week drive to/from work).

It's nice to break it up like this, and speaks to just how versatile car the 328 is. I think I might have trouble keeping the same pattern up with a 512TR (which I really like), and this is probably why I'll never sell the 328 (and would never trade to a 512TR - only add!).

I don't drive the F car when rain is in the forecast - ever. It's hard enough going through the flooded streets in a Miata. Been there, done that for 25 years in sports cars.

Will use TIME versus milage as tracking the car brings up high miles in low time
Rain: about 25% (including on track driving, so result are over 100%)
    Errands: 50%
    Track: 35%
Just street cruising/beach/spinning the fluids: 15%

Enzo intended the sale of it to subsidize his racing efforts. I doubt he really cared if you took it down the canyon or to the 7-11...

Didnlt Enzo sorta DISPISE those Hollywood poseurs and the like who bought his road cars, though yes they did pay the way for the F1 team. Funny, the same thing is happening today with Hiltons and the like LOL. What comes around, goes around (pun intended).
