Hey I'm thinking of redoing P 4/5 exhaust outlets. Does anyone have good photo's of 2002/2003 Ferrari Exhaust outlets or other outlets they think look cool? Best
These are all I have digitized, 1999 and 2003, but I have a couple you'll like from 2002 that I can get scanned if nothing else shows up. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The ones I'm looking for stuck up and had a heat shield extender. Like this. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That looks like 02 for sure, I have a close shot of the engine cover on a stand from rear 3/4, a shot of the car w/o the cover and few overall garage roof shots. 03 had a more encompassing shroud. I have few shots there, but ... PM me if nothing else comes your way.

Getting it changed already, will they have to be made custom like everything else on the car? Where do you have to send the P 4/5 to get them put on? Will the local Ferrari shop do it or will it be going back to Italy?
wow. that would make the care look really mean. pls post some pics, Jim, when you get it done. any idea when? edit : Yellowbird..awesome pics!
Hi She's heading back to Europe for Villa d'Est and the Historic Targa Florio. She'll stop first at Pininfarina where she'll undergo a Major service and a few modifications such as this one. Best
Good pics, though the 3rd one is Toyota - that's OK because they stole (literally) the design details form Ferrari ;-) The oval exhausts were used from 2002 to 2004. These are pics I had for 2002 and 2003. In 2004 the exhaust tips were cambered inward at the top - don't think it would good for P 4/5. Napolis, are you also planning on using the shark fin fairing? Hi A little of both. Thanks so much for the photo's. We're going to make a few changes based on what we learned from driving and testing. Not planing on the farings but will think about them. Best
I don't have any of the Ferrari, but here is a pic of the McLaren I got at Indy last year... Hope that helps -John Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great idea! Took me forever to search for these posts, but I'd like to think I inspired you way back in this thread on 08-23-2006
As discussed I think the exhausts will look better more F1 like. We expanded the water radiator after hot weather testing to increase engine cooling so we'll be changing internal grill a touch. We're also going to make front inlet grill more easily removable so leafs can be cleaned out easier. We're going to modify side window vent gaskets to reduce wind noise above 200 mph. We're going to paint some internal engine compartment panels black so they show less through rear grill. We're going to add deflector to keep rain coming off of rear tires from inundating following cars. Besides those minor things well take her apart and inspect everything to make sure all's well and isolate a few things like the high pressure fuel pump which resonates when the tank gets low. We're also adding an additional cargo net to rear bulkhead. Best
wow...thanx for all those pointers Jim. had no idea how much of things must be looked into to maintain a supercar...especially something unique like yours.
Jimmy, how would you know what the wind noise is like above 200mph, the speed limit is about a third of that, and I doubt it could go anywhere near that fast on a circuit. Please explain yourself. Also, to get your car oversees do you ship it or do you fly it?
At CERAM Rene Arnoux got very close to 200 and I noticed that the wind noise from the passenger side vent was more than I liked. We're going to re engineer the clear gasket. At that speed on the banking the down force pushed the rear body work into the tires. We're decided against stiffer rear springs as the tipping point of the down force was probably caused by the banking which exceeds anything one is likely to encounter on the street and the likely hood of P 4/5 racing at Daytona is slim.
