Anyone ever paint their 355 a different color? Maybe like silver to black...What's something like that cost?

It is not something that is practiced by f-car owners. If you do go forward with the paint, prepare to be frowned upon from all directions :(.

If you are keeping the car, don't worry about it. ;)

Id say go for it. :D:D
You can always paint it back if you ever want to sell the same colour as it left the factory. :) Paint jobs are not cheap mate. Budget at least US$4-5K+! Maybe more...........maybe less. :):) Go to a few paint shops and get quotes, thats the easiest way to do it. :)

Paint it if you plan on keeping it for a long while---it will KILL the resale value, but it's your car---do what makes you happy..

I don't own the car. Actually, I've been looking for a black and tan but I saw a silver GTB with "bordeaux" interior. Never seen that before and I started thinking Black with red interior - might be nice.

It would be much easier to change the interior on a car like that if the color combination is the problem.

One of the problems with repainting is that alot of the black paint inside the doors and around the car has the original car color underneath. It would probably be closer to 15K to get the level that you need for the car.

You could always change the red interior to black and have a nice color combination for about 8K and raise the resale value because of the new leather and carpet. A whole carpet set from the dealer is 1800 with mats. new leather on the seats is about 3500. Figure another 3000 for the dash, doors, and back covers and you will have a whole new interior.

I was at a Ferrari show recently and a guy pulled up in a champagne Gold F355 with matching rims. He said it was a 456GT color. I can say that he definately commanded a lof of attention from other owners just from the rarity of the item. My guess, however, is that the car was repainted from some accident work - a few telltale signs were evident. It was very smart looking, though.

Yea, I see what you guys are saying. As far as original paint goes. But how good is the orginal paint?? I have heard diffrent stories about ferrari paint, and it makes me frown LOL. I have been painting cars for almost 6 years now, and certified by PPG. So, in away i will look for something that needs to be painted haha, cause i know i can fix it. I dont want to brag about how good i am, but i dont believe i will have a hard timing matching that which ferrari puts out, maybe even better.

Paint is good from factory. But I have seen many people do just as good, if not better. ALOT better. :):) Find a 'beater' and paint it. Save yourself some cash. :):)

There's an article in the Car & Driver magazine archives about people who spend $40,000+ on paint jobs for their Ferraris. You can certainly improve upon it, but I'm not sure you need to. It could make it uniquely appealing, though.
