i normally go for the Malaysian GP every year. but i doubt i'll go this year. will be a different story if i win some tix tho
Didn't want to be the first to post, but here it goes: Hungary Already bought my ticket and felt the pain of a devalued US$ vs the Euro.
Have race tickets, etc. for Spa in September. Our interest has drifted back to sports cars. In lieu of any other F1 race, we'll be in Monza next month for the 1000KM LMans Series race, Le Mans in June, Proximus 24 in Spa in July (FIA-GT) and quite a few ALMS races. Will definitely put Imola back on the calendar to attend in 2008. Carol Andreas- the pain of the devalued USD vs the € is doesn't hurt nearly as much as the USD vs the GBP !
one of my close friend went for that race a few times. faily cheap, and it's a nice place, according to her. i must make it a point for me to go, considering that China, Australia, and Japan are the closest to me.
Ok, let's see where we stand so far: Melbourne Sepang --- Remy Zero? Bahrain Spain Monaco --- KJB355 Montreal --- TifosiF2002, YellowbirdRS, red355, opus10583 Indy --- half the FChat population Magny Cours --- KJB355 Silverstone --- Martin H Nuerburgring --- KJB355 Budapest --- tifosi12 Istanbul Monza --- ddn, KJB355 Spa --- Carol, Martin H Fuji --- Nate Johnson? China --- Nate Johnson? Brazil Will we find at least one FChatter for each race? Also if your name is on here, you have a responsibility to come back with a report and pictures!
For me Spa and Nürburgring. I live only 150km from each of these two tracks, so it's easy to get there for me. Maybe Monza or Monaco, but not sure!!
Thanks Brian - we definitely will - especially the 24 hour ones - getting into practice in two weeks time with the 12 hours of Sebring. I don't know if you follow the European and ALMS scene for the LMP1, 2, GT1, 2 cars but it's really neat to see them all on the track at the same time. Check out the respective websites. Lots of F430's this year in ALMS, FIA-GT and LMS. You too enjoy any of the races you get the opportunity to attend. Take care, Carol
lol..yea..i've been to Sepang for the past 5 years. i've posted some pics before, but if anyone has any questions, fire away. personally, it'll be extremely cheap for fchatters from europe and US to come over, because of the exchange rate. so, stuffs here like food, accomodation, etc, is cheap.
USGP ofcourse! Anywhere else in the world is either too expensive or I don't have the time because of school or both.
wow. i hope you'll still be active, in travelling to races in a few years time. i really hope to watch the 24 hour Le Mans in a few years time live.
This year I am applying the budget freeze. Already spent a lot of cash on the car and such. All F1 races will be watched on TV.
That's pretty unique. Care to elaborate why? Just love the Cote d'Azur that much? I mean I've been to Monaco twice and loved it, but then thought I had seen it. You know folks you hang out with every year?
Yes, I guess I do love the Cote d'Azur, and also really enjoy the stop-over in Paris every year on the way back. MC is a great race venue (despite all the standard criticisms), and the excitement builds daily during race week since virtually everything in town revolves around the GP. While you certainly don't see drivers etc. "up close" as often as used to be the case, it's still possible to do so- hell it's a small town, as you know. And the cars on the streets during race week are mind-boggling! Where else do you see McLaren F1s, Bugatti EB110s, etc., etc. tooling around town? Besides, about 10 years ago (after staying at various hotels in MC and surrounding areas for a few years) I got a room in-town and will lose it if I give it up, so . . . Hell, an inexpensive (abour $300/night), well-located hotel room in Monaco is a pretty valuable asset, so how can I stop going now? When my wife and I split up, about the only argument we had was over who got the room in MC for race week (obviously, I won)! And yes, I do know folks who go almost every year, so it's a nice opportunity to get together.
Just finished arrangements to attend the Hungarian F1GP with a couple of friends. Hope to get there in time to do the Thursday PM pit walk. Will be staying at the Hilton Budapest. First visit to Hungary; won't have time for much besides the race, but anyone have any "can't miss" suggestions for any sightseeing we might get to do?
