    Hey

I'm thinking of redoing P 4/5 exhaust outlets. Does anyone have good photo's of 2002/2003 Ferrari Exhaust outlets or other outlets they think look cool?

These are all I have digitized, 1999 and 2003, but I have a couple you'll like from 2002 that I can get scanned if nothing else shows up.

That looks like 02 for sure, I have a close shot of the engine cover on a stand from rear 3/4, a shot of the car w/o the cover and few overall garage roof shots.

03 had a more encompassing shroud. I have few shots there, but ...

PM me if nothing else comes your way.

    Excellent photos, Yellowbird.

Jim, are you going to enclose your exhausts?

Getting it changed already, will they have to be made custom like everything else on the car? Where do you have to send the P 4/5 to get them put on? Will the local Ferrari shop do it or will it be going back to Italy?

    Hi

She's heading back to Europe for Villa d'Est and the Historic Targa Florio. She'll stop first at Pininfarina where she'll undergo a Major service and a few modifications such as this one.

Good pics, though the 3rd one is Toyota - that's OK because they stole (literally) the design details form Ferrari ;-)

The oval exhausts were used from 2002 to 2004. These are pics I had for 2002 and 2003. In 2004 the exhaust tips were cambered inward at the top - don't think it would good for P 4/5. Napolis, are you also planning on using the shark fin fairing?

    Hi

A little of both. Thanks so much for the photo's. We're going to make a few changes based on what we learned from driving and testing. Not planing on the farings but will think about them.

As discussed I think the exhausts will look better more F1 like.

We expanded the water radiator after hot weather testing to increase engine cooling so we'll be changing internal grill a touch.

We're also going to make front inlet grill more easily removable so leafs can be cleaned out easier.

We're going to modify side window vent gaskets to reduce wind noise above 200 mph.

We're going to paint some internal engine compartment panels black so they show less through rear grill.

We're going to add deflector to keep rain coming off of rear tires from inundating following cars.

Besides those minor things well take her apart and inspect everything to make sure all's well and isolate a few things like the high pressure fuel pump which resonates when the tank gets low.

We're also adding an additional cargo net to rear bulkhead.

Jimmy, how would you know what the wind noise is like above 200mph, the speed limit is about a third of that, and I doubt it could go anywhere near that fast on a circuit. Please explain yourself. Also, to get your car oversees do you ship it or do you fly it?

At CERAM Rene Arnoux got very close to 200 and I noticed that the wind noise from the passenger side vent was more than I liked. We're going to re engineer the clear gasket. At that speed on the banking the down force pushed the rear body work into the tires. We're decided against stiffer rear springs as the tipping point of the down force was probably caused by the banking which exceeds anything one is likely to encounter on the street and the likely hood of P 4/5 racing at Daytona is slim.
