This was and still is a weekend with the wife away, so this for me spells car weekend. No, I am not filling the insert of my new key with epoxy to make it feel more solid (I know what they key is and if it feels unsolid, that is for me to know isnce no one else drives my car!)...nor am I figuring out ways to place a CS like racing stripe down my car....

Instead, I decided to do my first cleaner, glaze, wax coat. In the years of detailing cars, I have used almost evry product out there: Meguiars, Griots, Zymol, Mothers, Zaino...the list goes on. Well, a friend turned me onto a package which you cannot beat! The results thus far are absolutely amazing. Remember, I have a tough car for swirls and imperfections - TDF is almost as bad as black!!

Anyhow, an online site called www.autogeek.net sells a whole host of stuff. They have a package deal called the Forum Favorite Kit. It has everything you need to get the waxing done.

First process is a cleaner made by Klasse (called Klasse all in one) which not only cleans, it fills in the swirls and minor scratches. It is very liquidy and was sooooooooooo simple to apply. Literally took the microfiber applicator and wiped it on in long strokes and then wiped off with a microfiber towel. the results were pretty astonishing. There were some swirls filled by this process that I never got any results from with Griots.

NOw you have this cleaner process done and need to deepen and wetten the look of the car. This is where I have found that products like Griots and Meguiars fail misreably. So, you apply another VERY liquidy application of a product made by Klasse which is a high gloss sealant glaze. What I found amazing about this product is that the apllication is very simpla. It literally took me 1 hour to apply the glaze on the entire car. What will test your patience is that the prodcut works best the longer it remians on your paint. So, I waited 14 hours before removing it and you will not believe the depth and finish of the paint. Remember guys, at this point, I still don't have wax covering this glaze and the finish is already this spectacular. So, as of Sunday morning, I have now applied another coat of the Klasse glaze and will wait another 8 hours before removing it.

The last step of the process is applying carnuba. The Package comes with a wax I have used in the past and find it to be the best out there. Pinnacle Soveran wax. Highest carnuba count, easy application and smells incredible.

So, I will snap some photos later and you should really reconsider changing the waxing arsenal in your garage if you don't use these products.

    Good luck!

    Joe

uhhhhh you try too hard. Just go to the brush-less car wash like the rest of us. :)

As someone how details his own cars, I've found that the difference between good products and very good products is like night and day.

    Post those pictures.

lol. I use S100 (same as P21S). Gives me awesome results. I don' have enough money to blow on Pinnacle Soverougn. If you want something better, try the Zymol Concours (i think that's the name, it's the $150ish zymol). Everyone whos used it said they liked it more than Pinnacle.

I want to try some Werkstatt products next, and I have yet to try zaino, so those 2 are on my to-do list for this year.

    I've used Griot's for years.

For cleaning, you need to wash, then use the Clay. Griot's is the best clay on the market. After clay, use one of the polishes -- if your paint is already in great shape, just use Number 3 (fine.)

Then follow-up with Best of Show Wax.

    Awesome results.

Thanks for the info. I tried the Zaino stuff. It is OK and has a big following but not easy stuff to use and I think the quality is not as good as the Pinnacle and Klasse stuff

I am a huge fan of the Klasse products. Both the All-In-One and the Sealer Glaze. I use one coat of the All In One followed by 2 or 3 coats of Sealer Glaze. The downside compared to Zaino is that you have to wait 8 hours between applying a coat of the SG and buffing it off. So a 3 coat job takes me 2 days of the car in the garage. Also, to bring out the color even more and make it "pop" as some have said, I put a layer of pure high quality carnauba on top of the Klasse products. The Sealant Glaze will last months without wearing off as it is an acrylic sealant. I reserve the carnauba topper for car shows and special occasions. For carnauba I am using Pinnacle Signature Series.

The pictures were after a full detailing:
Wash & Dry with NXT wash.
    Clay Bar.
1 coat of Klasse All in One
3 coats of Klasse Sealant Glaze
1 coat of Pinnacle Signature Series
Quick Detailer any hazy spots out along the way. (Sealant Glaze is stubborn to come off sometimes. I need an orbital buffer.)
