    2 points to note here

    1. that wing...kill it!

    2. maybe its the camera angle but the 430 looks like a boat compared to the lovely little 355!

i remember years ago taking a pic of my dino from the top and thinking they got the shape right from ALL angles with that car.

Now, the 612, 360 and 430 have it just right from the top. Kills the looks of the 308/328/348/355 cars from that angle.

the visible engine is a very good thing....but i dont think it takes anything away from the earlier cars

haven't seen a lot of visible engines on 612s.

i was referring to the shape of the body.

    no...not really.

i couldn't see the correlation with the shape of those cars from the top and the fact that a 360/430 has a clear engine lid.

sigh...the clear engine lid helps the looks of the car from above.

you never mentioned you were strictly referring to the silhouette and NO other aspects of the cars' design.

Interesting day, obviously good to be able to get above the cars.
Sadly saw 2 cars didn't make the distance... one boxer before the bridge, and one Daytona just after the bridge. It was great to see more than just the rally cars at the gathering which didn't happen in Melbourne.
The atmosphere was quite different to the Melbourne event, I guess because of the F1 component which bought out the supporters and merchandise stands.
Sydney had a Mondial in the rally.. the only one I remember in Melbourne was one for sale, parked on the road outside the rally cars.

    Did the Enzo show up?

It would be great to see a standard 328GTB around.

250SWB, ex Eric Clapton and Anthony Bamford. Stunning.

I have some more (and better!) shots, just waiting for Ash to photoshop the plates for me.

Would have been nice if there was more room between cars so that you could take a nice pic of the whole car side on. :):) Cool pics though. :):)

US$2-3mill. Owner paid 1.3million pounds for this car, then restored it.

This is the most desirable "competition" model, alloy body, external fuel filler. I hope to learn more about its history. Most of these cars were used in competition in the late 50's and early 60's.

Yeah, I don't know why Ian G put that 355 into the display of special cars, it just didn't belong. One less car would have been a great benefit for photos.
