hey guys, my dad makes a good amount of money a year (200k+) I think that should be enough for a 360 maybe, not too sure about a 430. Anywho hes not really into cars but I want to convince him to buy a Ferrari. On the other hand the house payments are 100k a year so maybe we cant afford one.

I always try to ask him if he can afford one but he just gives me a vague answer.

What exactly is the point of this thread?

Your dad said he doesnt really want/need a Ferrari, why the hell would he get one? Its his money, he probably works hard for it, he should be able to spend it on exactly what he wants, not what his brat of a son tells him to spend it on.

Its really hard to convince people who aren't interested. If he wanted one, he would have bought a Ferrari already with that kind of salary.

What you can do is take him to Auto Shows or you can go to Ferrari meets with him. That might convince him to buy one. It might work.. it might not. Well, I wish you luck convincing your dad to buy a Ferrari.

By the way, welcome to the forums!

$100K a year in house payments!!!?????

Nah, you guys aren't living beyond your means.... your mom should get a Ferrari, too.

Holy stupendous debt, batman. You should get a job to help him, lol.

    Lol

Not with a friggin' $8300 monthly mortgage payment on $200K pre-tax income. He should find a gently used Geo Metro LSi cabriolet. Not the turbo, but the low end one.

You risk losing credibilty here. If he buys one and it has a mechanical problem, YOU will be blamed. If he wrecks it you will be blamed. Of you wreck it you will be blamed.

He probably won't buy one and he will conclude you have alot of growing up to do yet.

Given the financial information you give, he probably can't afford it.

Get a job, save up and have the pleasure of buying one yourself. It took me 40 years. It is something to look forward to. Really.

That's what I was thinking. Hell of a house for $200K a year. Depending on things, it's probably around 1.5Mill or so, maybe 2 if they had a large nut to put down and did a 40 year mortgage. The house is half his income...f'n crazy.

I think your dad should find a cheaper house, not a new Ferrari.

What other cars do you own sasan? Zamirz, I was thinking the same thing.
If you dad makes $200k like you said and if he pays his taxes and has 100k in house bills, that leaves about 25k in spending money for pops. He'd be lucky to get a 308. Definitely get the house under control before you spend 200-300k on a car, heaven forbid your father lost his job you'd be up s***'s creek.

Using my advanced knowledge of Farsi, I believe that means don't buy the Ferrari, buy a Camry.

My dad isn't into cars... I convinced him to get the 360, but now he loves it. He still complains to me when he gets service bills... but when his friends are always complimenting him on his car so that makes up for it. :)

I am as graceful as a Bullfighter when it comes to Farsi, your complement is well accepted by me.

I'd ground my kids from the intarwebs if they went around posting my income and home prices.
