My A/V receiver died over the weekend after a beat the s**t out of it for not working with DVDs when I asked it to. Anyways I need a quick fix because I hate watching anything on the plasma through the crappy plasma speakers. I'm just after something basic with the usual inputs/outputs (coax, SPDIF, HDMI, etc). Anyone have some ideas on brands/models that they are happy with? I'm not after audiophile gear - just something that will produce sound on demand.
Onkyo or Marantz. Durable and good quality. They're probably middle range eq. and works nicely if hooked up to descent speakers.
yeah I run the Yamaha gear too, good bang for buck but then I'm deaf as a post so why waste good money on the best
Yeah sounds like the direction I'm thinking..... Have been considering Denon or Yamaha. Marantz has always been on the list - my dad has had one since the mid-70s and it still kicks along nicely.
trust me it was more AA than fellowship I'm sure I've seen a few of those faces on the post office walls
What a pack of ugly b#*tards, I've seen better heads at the trough, they certainly look better after a few grogs are on board.
ditto...weve had a yamaha amp for near on 5 yrs now, not an ounce of trouble, great performance...and im NOT deaf!
Is that a little more...or a "little" more. Seems like some pretty awesome gear with a price to match. I don't want to have to dip in to the Ferrari fund to pay for it...and I don't want to blow my Canton sats away!
Have a Yammy RX1600, awesome receiver. Try www.dba.org.au (I think thats the link- good forum for AV stuff)
Thats dba.com.au 'disc brakes australia' dba.org.au is 'digital broadcasting australia' the forum on that site is very helpful and the guys/gals there know there stuff if you have questions etc. Was useful when doing my home stereo.
nice bloke, has a very hot GT4 spec out as a race car, did the 05 Classic and did it well, had his wife as navigator (need one of those) and i believe some of the modretti bits sit on that car..............but not the engine or gearbox
can't be too hot, beat it by 3 secs at Tassie he's Frenzo on here and hardly ever wears anything with a Ferrari horse on it
