hey daniel thanks for the link, I just ordered the struts from your co. I think I can keep the current insulation foam by using the adhesive at jcwthiney, hope it works.. do you know if the adhesive at jcwthiney is a special kind that sticks in high temps? thanks

I used that adhesive on mine, and it has held the insulation just fine for 3 years.

Don't try to remove that foam stuff unless you're going to toss it in the garbage. Trying to remove it will likely tear it. So, cover your engine bay with plastic then spray the adhesive in the draped area. Let it sit for a second or two, then press the foam against the bonnet. Use some painters tape or something to gently hold it into place while the adhesive dries.

The struts are already in transit to you. :)

Here's a thread I started four years ago on this subject (from the old Ferrari Chat archives - start at the bottom). It's still holding together just fine.

By the way, in another thread, someone got new foam pieces from the Ferrari dealer - it ran about $260!! For foam!! That's just the parts, no labor!

I'm with Jeff and Daniel. JC Whitney has very few good parts, but their reflective insulation and spray on adhesive rocks! Gotta give credit where it's due.

I've used both of the above for 2 years on my daily-driven 348, and prior to that had it on my Porsche 928 for several years. If you follow the instructions on the adhesive-can, it will last forever.
