    Old Yeller placed second in a large local car show here today. Not too bad considering there were almost 300 entrants. Was a two-day indoor show. The show winner was a '57 Corvette and it was deserving. The owner did a frame off restoration and it was perfect in every detail.

    I had people all weekend ask me if Old Yeller was a "new" Ferrari. The most common questions were the usual: How fast does it go? Is it fun to drive? Where did you buy it? How much does it cost?

    I let a lot of kids walking by sit in the car and honk the horn. That was a thriller for many of them. Parents taking their pictures, etc.

    The beauty of all of this is I bought this car for way cheap last summer. It was so cheap there weren't any interested parties - everyone thought there must be something wrong with it. It was the car that nobody wanted. But the truth is the seller was motivated, and the car didn't show very well. It had a lot of dust, grime, and cheesy aftermarket wheels, some silly Simpson racing seat belts, and a Harley sticker on the window. All of this stuff combined took $10K off the value of the car, but I was able to fix it all in half of one Saturday

    Yeah it sure does pull a crowd doesn't it ;)

    Did you get a trophy, I got a hand made one after fluking 1st place at a local car show last year :)

    It's also the only car there. Mt Isa is an Australian Amish community and they all have horse buggys.

    Yeah racking them up now, I will need to build another shed just for them :eek:

    Nah wasn't allowed to wear the "shorts" as there were young childeren around on the day :p

    Ahhh Greek, Italian is all the same, plenty of garlic and gold necklaces to stop us shaving our facial hair too low :D

    Timber base, single disc clutch plate, 2 collapsible spacers, inner race of a spherical bearing, 2 pushrod tubes and a rocker arm all drowned in a deep gold duco for good measure :D

    I came in second in the online car show thread I started, came in second to this guy ([pictured)....Not a good feeling.....coming in second that is...
