Has anyone replaced a windshield in a 355? If so, how much did it cost?

I took my F355 Spyder out to wash it today and noticed a large (five inches) crack in my windshield. It must have happened last weekend, I just don't recall a rock hitting the window.

My insurance is through Hagerty. They said my deductible for any "non collision" claim is $500. I guess that means there is no specific coverage for broken windows, like a "regular" auto policy has.

I received one quote for $1,500 for the windshield, not including installation. Would you file a $1,500 claim for a window? Am I risking my policy going up, or being canceled for a window claim?

    Thanks in advance!

348 and 355 windshields are the same. my 348 glass was replaced. replaced with a 355 glass- perfect fit...... bought through ricambi- great price.... i paid 300 bucks for install. many glass installers wont even touch the car because they're afraid to mess something up [ ferrari ].

You've got to remove the chrome trim that wraps around the windshield in order to replace it. Ding it (painfully easy to do) and you're out $800 or more for new chrome.

I had to replace mine last year. I could only get the dealer to do it. Are you ready.....................................$3400! As mentioned the chrome/black strip trim around the windshield was $750 on it's own. Luckily here in Ma. we have glass coverage. Insurance paid without a squeek. Good luck.

I sucessufully removed the chrome molding very carefully using a heat gun. But I couldn't get the rubber molding to come out in one piece. Almost but no cigar. The problem is, you cannot buy the rubber strip alone, it only comes in a new rubber and molding package. So I do have an extra molding if anyone is interested.
