    Hi all,

I'm based in Dubai and wondered whether it would be worth my while to get certain parts in the UK whilst I am over for the summer. I am currently on the look out for a couple of 550 headlamp units (rosso) which I would otherwise have to buy new from the local dealer at exorbitant cost. Some background:

Can anyone advise the best value supplier in the UK?

One other question: my 550 will probably eventually come back with me to the UK. Will I need to buy another brand new set of headlights in order to meet MOT requirements, or is there an easy fix? (eg a switch to make the lights angle the correct way for UK roads, as is the case with some Porsches)

    Many thanks for your help,

    Harris

if you had a classic 80's or earlier car there are several places i could recommend

you could try Eurospares, 247 Spares or Douglas Valley Breakers, they all specialise in dismantling Ferraris

    Thanks, Pete.

Does anyone know if right hand versus left hand drive cars have different headlight units?

I'm sure there was a thread a couple of years ago about Verdi being very helpful with a modern sealed headlight - definitely worth calling them - they'll know the left/right answer too

As far as I know they are different, now someone needs to quote me if i'm wrong but a Lhd drive car which drives on the right hand side of the road will have their headlights pointing slightly to the right as to not dazzle other drivers, so basically if you drive a foreign Lhd car on the uk road then the headlights are going to be slightly pointing into oncoming traffic, i'm pretty sure you can get away with a black triangle shaped sticker on each headlight to stop cross glare, again quote me if i'm wrong;)

To register the car in the UK though it needs to pass UK MOT which means RHd lights

My 928 came from Germany and I never had any problem when I re-registered it here, unless it was done before it was sent over
