Amelia 2007 was even better than prior years. Derek Bell was the Honorary Host, so many of his former race cars were on display. Vic Elford, Stirling Moss, and Herschal McGriff were also honored. So many famous race drivers wandering the beautiful grounds.

Featured cars include race cars from the PanAmerica, so many Ferraris were present this year.

If you can not make it to Pebble Beach, this is the event to attend if you love classic cars. Amelia is much more informal, and the setting is nearly as beautiful as in PB. They even duplicated the California morning fog. Admission was only $45 to see cars that have competed an won at Pebble Beach and other notable concours. If you live on the East Coast of the USA, the best plan would be to attend Cavallino and Amelia.

Probably, but I am too tired from downsizing and posting. I do remember there were very few Jags.

This Delahaye with body by F&F, won its class at Pebble Beach last August. It had a lucite steering wheel and dash knobs. It usually resides in Boca Raton, spoke to the owner, so maybe it will appear at the 2008 Morgan Adams.

One of the most beautiful cars ever built, but I would still take the Bucciali over it.

A 275 GTB looks almost ordinary in the midst of this bunch.

    Great shots!

Thanks for the kind words. This was only about 25% of the photos I took, and saved. Too tired to downsize and post.

Actually, there were a series of Delahayes with similar coachwork, with kind of a "nose" above the grille. This is one of the prettier ones.

Do you have any information about the Ferrari 195 or 212 ? Vignale coupe parked behind the Porsche numbered 154. in your photo ? I think it says USA FUTURA in white on the door ? I would really appreciate it if anyone has additional photos of this car.

Thanks a million for the pics. Made me sick that I couldn't make it this year.

    The Delahaye looks awsome!

It was another great event....the road racing symposium was awesome (Redman, Surtees, Fitch, Moss, DeCadenet, Economaki, McGriff, Hobbs, Posey, etc.)....thanks to Bill Warner and all his staff and volunteers. They're all great. Just when I think I'm getting jaded I go to Amelia and see cars I've never seen or even heard of, and many more that I've always wanted to see.

Congratulations to my friend George Shelley for winning the Daytona Award with his jewel-like Cisitalia monoposto. Also to John and Kathy Schumann for their F1 Ferrari with Derek Bell history.

I remember seeing it at Pebble as well. Actually the first time I've ever been exposed to Delahayes, some very gorgeous cars indeed.

Here's a shot of it from there:

I think I like the burgandy and cream Figoni-Falaschi bodied Delahaye even better!

Here is a link to a miniature of another Delahaye that is similar to the blue car..

and another similar car that was owned by Rita Heyworth..

Can anybody please shed light on the gorgeous red Ferrari No.26?

I would guess it is from the 250 series, but I'm simply clueless on this pretty one.
