Nothing particular. We have one behind the passenger which holds the owners manual etc. and we're putting one behind the driver for additional storage.

Next to the passenger seat is a compartment that holds a purse which Meg's says works well.

How cool is that Rene Arnoux at 200mph at Ceram in your one off ferrari LIFE DOES NOT GET BETTER than that eh (well apart from a little wind noise) RESPECT

Fantastic to hear how you really are using this car Jim. Almost all of these minor modifications are for improvement of the driving feel, which is great as it shows how this is indeed not a car simply for showing off.

Congrats on this wonderful time in your life with the P4/5, I can't wait to see the new more agressive exhaust pipes.

BTW I love the pic of it flying round the bend at CERAM. This car looks soooo good at speed!

    Mean ride, no doubt!

About the exhaust outlets - I love the heat shield look. Very clean and more NASA than F250 Diesel :) .

Pardon any ignorance, but you couldn’t just go to Ferrari and have them give Pininfarina design plans to their F1 exhausts from 02 or 03? It would be an exact copy that you could from there, mould to your specs.

Slim is better than none, is it not? ;)

I didn't know there was any storage behind the passenger seat. Is it a satchel built into the bodywork in carbon fiber, or is it a material pouch that is somehow connected? (Picture?)

I'd have to agree on the exhaust though, it was always what I didn't really like as much as the rest of the car. Probably the reason I don't think it looks racy is because of the 90 degree angle. If there was a way to make the exhaust follow the line of the car better instead of going up then toward the back then I believe it would look better. Just my opinion. :)

We'd better get the full spectrum of photos with her undergoing, and then after all is complete. :)

IMO it would depend on how close the current exhaust design on the F2007 is to the design on the 02/03 car. From the looks of it I wouldn't think they are that close, but if they were I don't think the race team would be very inviting to letting anyone else see their design specs.

PS: Jim do you have any pics of P4/5 in the rain before you put on the deflector? I was thinking something similar to this picture. Unless the problem of spray isn't as severe as I'm picturing.

    Jim,

The photo on the banking is beautiful, and Rene Arnoux is a good guy.

What speed have you gotten it up to at the test track? 220+ mph?

    Hi

Yes the water spray is like that so we're going to tone it down a touch.

Rene is a very nice guy. 200 is VAX max for that track but based on our calculations she'll touch 233.

225 was the Enzo's top speed if I remember correctly. Significantly lighter, with the same horsepower. The only thing that is slowing it down would be the extra downforce making it harder to accelerate at those high speeds.

So will it be limited by aerodynamics, or will it be limited by the gear ratios?

Both an Enzo and P 4/5 will pull red line in top gear. P 4/5's slightly higher rear ratio is due to her larger diameter rear tires so her top end is slightly higher. Over 200 wing goes down on both cars for VMAX.

Nope I'm an 1100 KLM 8000 turn kind of guy. That's why I'm taking her to the Historic Targa Florio. Stopping for Cappuccino and getting stuck behind sheep we average about 28 mph.

Not a bad way to be. Last time I tried to even accelerate hard in my truck the damn thing broke, and hasn't started ever since, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to have the P4/5 stuck in the shop for a month +. :p

If somehow I ever do get a ride though.. Feel free to drive as fast as you want. :D

That cover shot is one of the best pictures I've seen of your car, Jim. Love the sweeping rear-to-front side shot with the wheel turned. Makes the front fender swoop look huge. Are those original sketches in the background? Congrats on the cover.

So, how long is she going to be in the shop for this time, Jim?
Was the design for the new exhaust ever finalized, and if so will it be a rather simple/fast procedure?
And last question of the moment, are these going to be done before she does the European shows or after?

Like I said before, pictures are expected when all is said and done. ;)
