If i remember correctly, a dealer I went to said they were selling them for a $100k premium. Sounds a little high to me, but then again, most people who buy these cars new can afford to pay a little more.

Happens every year guys. Patience is a virtue. Got my 360 and my 575M nicely priced. No, I'm not wealthy and I don't throw good money after bad. However, I get what I want. I found an immensely wealthy fellow who likes me (just lucky). He pays top, drives them for a year or so and calls me. I buy and wait for the next time. Very simple. When you see me with a 599, you may understand. Meanwhile, it's 575 fun time. Be of good cheer!

You're not wealthy? Didn't you post elsewhere that you sold a Lusso?

Anyway, I agree - the smart money waits a couple of years and buys very gently used. In Ferrari-land, most of them are.

I don't know where the previous posters are getting their information, but, to my knowledge, all US dealers are selling ordered 430s at MSRP. I just placed an order for a 430 and my order sheet lists "MSRP" (plus options) as the price. Used cars are selling for market which is above MSRP. Additionally, the dealers receive an occasional new inventory car from Ferrari that they can sell at market. The problem is getting on the list and the wait involved.

Last month, I met a guy in his 430 and he told me he paid $50,000 over MSRP.

Yes, but did he order the car through a dealer? If the car was in the dealer's inventory they are free to sell if for any price.

Option A) Suck up to the dealer and get a new Ferrari, with money left over for a nice Corvette

Option B) Get a used Ferrari with 5000 miles and no Corvette.

    I like option A a lot more :).
