I just purchased a boot cover for a F355 Spyder......seller said it was original Ferrari....how can you tell if it is real or a reproduction? Thanks Bruce
Original is leather and has elastic at the lowest points in the cabin. It also has a soft foam backed linning. I don't really know how else to describe it.
Chaa.....the upholstery work done to your car... is awesome!!! Congrats. I thought the snaps on the OEM had a prancing horse embossed...??? Maybe you or Goth can check your OEM just to make sure... Thanks
Ah yes i have seen them snaps you are talking about. I know that the snaps on the inspection panels. I know there not on my hood boot though. Thought i suspect that they have been replaced in the cars 12 years of life. I also remember the hrse snaps on my 328 roof boot.
Well the guy I bought mine from said it had never been used and was all original.......and of course I paid big bucks for it. Hopefully someone with a boot cover that knows there's is original can tell me about the snaps..............because if mine isn't original I am going to ask for a cheaper price........too many liars on eBay.
I had mine redone aftermarket for the 348 Spider and they used the identical materials and took all the fasteners off the original piece. In that case, isn't it essentially stock?! But yeah, its just a boot cover.
I know it is just a boot cover.....but stop and think about it.....if I told you I had an original new OEM front bumper for sale and you paid top dollar for it and found out later it was a reproduction that you could of purchased for half the price....what would you do. It's not only the principle, but believe it or not their are people in the future that will base their offer for your car based on it's originality(stock...all OEM). An example of this that is current is the Foriano in Dallas for sale without the suede steering wheel......it would effect my offer for sure.
