hi all so I drove the yellow F430 and it is very nice but does not give me a WOW this car is amazing feeling. I also drove a 2007 porsche turbo and same thing not what I expected. So I have the 2004 gallardo and the 1999 360 I'am trying to sell right now. But I'am stumped on what I should get. I'am trying to spend no more than 250K. does anyone know of any amazing cars? would a Murci give me the amazing feel or just heavy and large car?

    Thank you

Does that mean 911 Turbo and F430 is already out of your "to buy" list?

yes sadly. I thought the F430 was not a big enough improvement over the 360 and for a extra 135K. I always have had a porsche but have not recently since a 2004 GT3. SO I thought I would like the new turbo but coming out of a 360 it seems plan and the stearing a little dull. I personaly would not trade my 360 for a 997 turbo?

rust free examples tend to lack "character" and convertibles have that "wow factor"

looking back i didn't see any pics of the 360 or Gcar...BS?

Yes.. I have faced the exact same dilemma. At the end I bought a Z-06 and 430 (selling my 360 along the way). I drove a Porsche Turbo and GT 3, Aston Martin Vanquish S, the Gallardo and the Murci (to me more show than go).

I am fortunate in that I own several cars, and can respond to my moods, but still rely on my 20 years of continuing road course motor racing to "cathart". Maybe, after owning every conceivable car, it is increasingly difficult to find "WOW". The Z-06 between 2nd and 4th (although noisy)is great fun, with the 430, being a very refined car that requires you to look at the speedometer to know how fast you are going. Good luck. Best

I thought the Murci was a heavy car, with poor braking. Very fast (in a lazy way) in a straight line, but cornering is not really its forte. But, it is huge and will get lots of attention. I am reliably informed that the LP640 is a more manic machine, and a fair bit quicker too. Try one of those?

The 430 is lighter, and more fun to drive than the Murci imo. Dare I say it, it is more practical too (which, matters in London if you want to use the car often).

Horses for courses though, you may like it, so try it.:)

So many choices. I have the same issue and am looking to add to my stable.
I agree with you on the F430 compared to the 360 but i love both cars.

I drove the Lambo Gar & Murci last week. i was interested in the Murci because appearance wise it would add a niche i do not have. it is a horrible car. i posted my drivng impressions in the 360/430 section. Look there for more detail. I must admit I liked the Gallardo. it was a 6 speed and it is comparable but different than the F430. I like the F430 better but it has better super car looks. Someone on the forum says the Gallardo has better performance numbers. it may a tick or so but the F430 handles better.

Under $250k the gallardo maybe worth looking at. I think they loose their value faster than F cars but others would know better than I. I was told by the dealer the '05 gallardos and newer perform better. 520 hp or such.

Personally I may go the Porsche GT route I looked at them last year but chose the Ford GT. I may revisit that. The two people I know qwho own them say the cltuch is hard to get used too.

You may want to look at the Ford GT. It is cheaper than the cars you mentioned, will smoke easely the F430 or Garrardo and is easy to drive. It is the best car and fastest i have every driven. First American car I have bought in 22 years. Check it out I think you will find it makes everything else slow.

The other car that you may want to look at is the Lotus Elise Sport. They only made 50 of them in the racing version. My is #8 build. it is the most hardcore driving experince ever. The disadvantage is they are small. Gas milage is amazing.

    Good luck to you

Oh has your Lambo been reliable for you? cost of ownership and other reflections

What are you looking for? If you want to WOW others, you can't beat the 430 or the Murcie.

If you want to WOW yourself, consider the Ariel Atom 2.

    What about the Carrera GT?

Edit: I thought the CGT was a little lower in price than what they are, which is around 350k it seems. I would say a Challenge Stradale would be a great car. Does the car have to be new? Perhaps an older Ferrari would be of interest too?

    Yes!

Murci is big and bulky...the SUV of exotic cars...The F430 is lithe and svelte...the real sports car of the exotic car world. I drove both and bought the F430...couldnt be happier...just my .02.

well as I have said I have the 2004 gallardo for sale and the 1999 360 for sale. I have been very lucky with both no problems. I think the stradale, lotus, and ariel atom might be a little hard core for me. I take my cars on long trips and too the track. my G car has 15,000mls on it and my F car has 12,000 miles on it. I'am waiting to drive a 997 GT3 one is coming in blk/bk. I have sat in a ford Gt it does not have enough visibiltiy as I would like. Does anyone know how much a SSC areo cost?

My friend and I switched cars for a short canyon drive about 2 weeks ago. He has a 430 and I have a CS. Without doing a huge write up my impressions were the 430 really kicked you in the butt, much more power than the CS. As far a handling the 430 was good, but I really liked the CS better. It seemed more nimble and fun in the twisties. Granted a 15 mile canyon run isn't enough to make a real educated decision, but I'll keep my car. :)

Get an inexpensive track car (ala elise or exige) and still have enough left over for stradale. I go to track once/week and you need a cheap beater. The stradale is def not hardcore. Nor is it an everyday driver. For everyday choices are many, personally I go for a 997 cab. Then you have most bases covered. For hardcore add F40 or CGT or ??
