OK, the little light in my fuel gauge does not light up when you first turn on the key. Is there a way to either remove that gauge or change the bulb WITHOUT pulling the whole dash out? I did a search (<cough>Search Nazis<cough>) and didn't find anything.

    Thanks,

    Joe

You are going to have to pull the panel. I pulled my instrument panel out a few months ago to replace all the bulbs with higher wattage units. It really wasn't that big of a job. Just buy some good quality T-Handle hex wrenches to get the steering wheel off and the rest is easy. While you're in there, bypass your rheostat and put in brighter bulbs. After I did this, the car was actually driveable at night.

To be honest, the reostat bypass is very effective and takes the least amount of work.

Shows how hard I looked for the dim control, Isn't the instrument dim control on an 85 a thumb wheel on the left side of the dash?

It is on the lower left dash on the 328...but I think all the 308's had it in the center binacle.
