Well, my last post requested the pricing of a GT5 vehicle. My true love has always been the GT5-S...Since they are soo hard to come by, I would have certainly stepped to a GT5 since they are easier to attain.

Well, recetly a friend who lives in Europe found two Pantera GT5-S for sale. At the present time, we do not know the condition....But, one is selling for approximately 50,000.00 USD. The other is much more expensive...

Since I have seen these cars go for large values, I am comfortable paying this price. The biggest factor is: Importing the vehicle into the US.

This is a hard decision. I am a newbie regarding the marque. I also know what the have been selling in the US for....So, what options does one have o get the car of their dreams. LOL

BTW...Why does everyone consider this car not to be a true Italian Sports Car. Is it looked down upon in that manner to the n'th degree? To be honest, I love the look. The car is sexy and brutal. Nothing compares to it.

50,000US seems very cheap for a real GT5-S.
There is one in the UK at the moment asking about 50,000sterling
    Steveirl's Pantera is a GT5-S if I remember correctly.

Great car. It does have a little bit of the mongrel reputation against it, but rareity keeps it up close price wise with contemporaray cars 512TR, Aston Vantage, Lambo Countach.

agree with Simon, seems kind of low. really hard to do without seeing in person unless you have deep pockets. I'd arrange for a PPI at the least.
lots of stuff, I'd say first and foremost watch for rust in the rails and supports.
F'EM! Its a bad azz car. my old essentially stock '74 will blow the doors off a hellof'a lotta' newer cars and has its extremely aggressive, low to the ground look. the other day i parked the car on the street as I wanted to sweep the driveway. I went for a run later and came up behind it and thought, damn, thats one aggressive, mean looking car!

A few years ago I would have said $50K would have been possible for a GT5-S. Now with Pantera prices up in general, I just don't think $50K is likely. Guessing, I'd say $65-75K. Possibly more. That's a hard car to judge because not many exchange hands regularly.

A GT5S for 50k USD sound very very cheap to me. You say that both cars for sale are in Europe? Where exactly? I may be able to help you in finding out more about them if you are serious.
There are two GT5S for sale currently in the UK both in excess of 45K Sterling, both are good cars but one needs paintwork to bring it up to show standard, and the other may not suit everyone as it has a tuned engine and racing clutch, along with 18" wheels which are not really popular here.
Continental European prices for lhd cars are between 60 and 80k Euro, the GT5S is rare, there are only 80 cars in Europe of which 21 were RHD.

I have the last one produced (so I am told) its an 89 1/2 even though it did not come to the US until 90, GT5-S, its an Amerisport edition. It was bought new at a local dealership, and has sat in a garage ever since, been driven only 9K miles and needs to be restored completely. No rust or major problems just cosmetic issues. Don't even ask how much it would cost to get it out of my garage. But $50k for one is not bad. I mean you can pick the older ones up in really good condition for $37 it depends on the originality and condition of course. I love it :D although mine is not in the greatest condition it still puts down nearly 500 ponies to the tarmac, weeee! but in all honest they are a great car, hard as hell to find parts for! This is what I am currently looking for the side Panel that covers the glass, well it replaces the glass, but for the passenger side. It was an Amerisport add on, please dont mind the dirtiness of the car, the picture is about a year and half old its clean and got some replacement moldings, etc...

They are gorgeous without a doubt. Nonetheless, as you say; They are brutal. I owned one. I'd rather look at it that drive it. My kidneys are getting too old for that.

Too many car owners fixate on making a fast engine, flashy paintjobs, or whatever, and never upgrade, or maintain, their suspension. If properly setup, there is no reason a Pantera's ride should be any more brutal that any other low sitting sports car.

Thanks for the replies guys. After doing some research with the good ole US Goverment, bringing in the car without meeting the 25 yr old rule will be next to impossible.

I think I will give Amerisport a call just to see if they would be willing to help.

You are right, I saw one when I was 18 and I was enchanted. It is beyond sexy and agressive.
