Yes if he provided good communication on arrival and had taken good care of the car usually $25- $40 depending on distance.

That seemed fair--just rounded up--$80 seems pretty good.

To be honest I have had mixed results I am not trying to hi jack the thread but sometimes I have tipped the driver when he has done a good job delivering the car, but I have been disappointed with the dispatchers estimate and communication on when the car would get there I end up using the company I have had best results with and its usually a smaller company with more control over the moves.

Isn't that really the criteria -- if they delivered the car in pristine condition, as shipped, give a nice tip. If it got screwed up in transit or while unloading, no tip, and demand that they pay for the damage.

15% of the cars value is usually the standard for tipping. But if you are shipping a set of 8 cars or more, then usually the tax is included. Am I confusing this with something else?

    Right on the money.

Thats why those cheap GTO owners always drive to events.

Thats a fair tip IMO. Rounding up is usually ok in my book. Whether it be $20 or $50 or $80. :):) Well done. :)

Good point. How do you handle a good driver but the co. dicks you around a bit? One thing is that it isn't worth chincing on the transport co. that you choose.

My car was delivered yesterday and I was wondering the same thing. I just flat out asked him, "Do people tip you." He was honest and said, "sometimes." Nice guy, so I gave him $100. I also promised to send my compliments to the transport company, which seemed to weigh equally well.

    $2,000 for shipping.
