Astons have the allure...the stance...even pronouncing it sounds arrogant with the right british accent...

What car do you drive Mr. Bond?...Martin, Aston Martin

    Congrats! Happy motoring!

You beat me to it. Anyone else catch the irony of AM eventually being owned (pwnt??) by Ford - who did the mid-60's 'Stang originally (just not quite as lavish and stately)?

Well, the Aston is a hell of a lot prettier, and don't even get started on the interior. Probably a good time to buy these as well. And a magnificent color combination, to boot.

If you want to dredge up remote styling resemblances, remember the Ford Maverick/Mercury Comet. But not just before you eat...

    (BTW, the AM's a V8 - any reason it's in the Boxer/TR thread?)

because argento wants a boxer, I was surprised he got the AM even though its a lovely car.

Of course the AM looks better - it's the "refined, English" version, eight years later, with the ultimate finish-out. If I didn't like the original Mustang's lines, I wouldn't consider it a compliment to what they did in Newport Pagnell.

The Maveric/Comet comment was just mean. ;^P
At least you didn't bring up the Mustang II.....

And I want that DB4 chasing Alex. THAT's pretty!!

you are correct about lots of cars having lots of styling similarities...the 599 looks alot like a supra.

the bespoke vantage is the true car for kings, princes, and the beatles! notice i did not say rock stars...there are rock stars and then there were/are the beatles!!

the vantage is among my very favorite machines and to those that know...there are few cars that could ever dream of being in that league.

i really think a vantage must be my fovorite occasion car next to the boxer. the aston is sooooo regal and special that it is one of the only recent vintage cars that makes the boxer seem a bit "so whatish" .

now that argento has his vantage...time to add the boxer.

Thats a tad harsh, the boxer is never "wo whatish" its an awesome emotional work of art with that Flat12 sound. Im an aston Martin fan as well so dont get me wrong, a DBR2 would be welcome in my garage anyday!

i did not mean to be harsh paul. as you know my boxer is my most cherished car i own. it is part of me like no other car has been or will be.

i was just pointing out that the purity of the aston is hard to top. did not mean to disparrage our loved ones!
