    I could forgive it.

I saw one (another Norwood) at RMs Amelia auction go for 130k a couple years back. Everyone seemed to think it market correct. What do you think the ask will be today?

    I'll call and post back.

    Salesman will call back.

What do you think is in the passenger footwell to the right of the fire bottle?
    Could that be a cooler?

i've seen this car in person, the shop is right near my house. i'm no vintage expert, but it's a beautiful car that looks like tons of fun to drive. it's in great shape.

I believe the passenger footwell to the right of the fire bottle houses the Nav system. (although is could be the becker 6-disc CD changer)

245K. Wish I'd got the one at 130K now. Stunned, I forgot to ask the guy about the cooler.

Interesting - the ad states 4 speed transmission but there are 5 gates plus reverse on the shift plate.

If I remember correctly the 'cooler' is the battery box. The shift gate is a 4 slot with a reverse slot and a lock-out where the sixth slot would go. The trannies where the 4spd. plus overdrive units used in 250's with the overdrive removed. This car originally had the plexiglass hood scoop treatment. Bob did four of these around 1980-82 one with a Daytona engine as I recall. One of the cars is currently being converted to right hand drive.

You've got a pretty good memory, I couldn't remember the shift gate details until you jogged my noggin. The time period was from '81 - (at least) '84, as we were completing the last(?) one just before I left in June. At that time, it was still in bare aluminum, having been formed by almost-daily visits by a true artisan from California - it was amazing watching him work the metal when time permitted (I was a bit preoccupied with Cantrememberhisname's 250LM restoration and making odds & ends for the 375MM). I've got some pics of that car at various stages, cursed with the flourescent lighting, but still interesting. I don't remember any being finished-out as nicely as the one for sale, but it was quite a while ago. Still &%$#ing gorgeous.

Another of the cars, can't remember which one, has a transaxle in place of the period-correct post-engine transmission (might be the Daytona-sourced one, now that I think of it). James' recollection of the battery being in the passenger footwell reminded me that I nearly burned on of them to the ground when I connected the jumper cables wrong from leaning over into the depths, in the dark, working by memory and feel. Smoke is not a good thing, BTW. It's beautiful to see one of these out there.

One of these days, I'll get the pics digitized - several rolls were Kodachrome.
Now I've got an urge to pull out the contact sheets....
