I noticed that too. I'm not sure that red is the best color on these cars, but that one sure looks nice. I also got a pretty good vibe for the seller judging from his description. Not too over the top and honest about a recent issue with one bank running rich or lean.

Gorgeous color combo, IMO. If I needed another $23k headache, and didn't mind automatics, I'd be all over this.

Did I say headache? I meant Ferrari.

Great deal for a great car. These 400's are soo underappreciated and undervalued.

I hope someone here buys it! :D

When I joined this site, we were having similar conversations regarding '60s 2+2 V-12s.

That said, who has made an offer on this car?

    Regards,

    Art S.

PS. I'm seriously thinking about buying a 365/400 but it must be a 5-speed for me.

Time has a way of making us pay for our smart remarks. I remember telling a guy he was out of his mind when he told me he wanted $30k for his 246 Dino.

    I'm such a jerk.

If you like the color combo there is a really nice silver/red one on Ebay as we speak.

Nice 400i 5 speeds are getting really tough to find. Just remember how REALLY small the market is....there were only 66 400i 5-speeds ever brought to the US. After 20+ years just how many do you think are left?

I think the earlier carb'ed cars are the ones most likely to move. The era only gets farther into the rearview and the numbers are quite small. Nothing can quite match the sound.

    Dave,

Thanks for the shameless plug ;)

I really hate to give up the car but I just don't have the time for two Ferraris. I bought it kind of on impulse because I always wanted a 400, but I feel guilty letting the car sit. By the way, it's also on eBay right now.

Can't wait to get over to Lauderdale to eyeball your car! I'll call you when I get over to Tim's.

    Cheers,
    Aaron

That is why i bought Aaron's XJR when it was on ebay. I can't vouch for this car but I can for the owner.

Hi Aaron, the car is great and the SRX goes "beep beep beep beeeeeeeeeep" whenever Smokey is around ;-)

Well hello my friend! How's my black cat doing out in NJ?

Did you ever get to the root of the inop electric trunk release? So weird, it worked fine when the car left here.

Hey, easy, that my p4ssy now ;-p
Purring like a kitten, and growling like a wildcat when called upon ;-).
You seem to take good care of your vehicles, and pick the right ones to begin with. If your 400i is anythng like the xjr, for the little readers that are in the market for a 400i, no need to look elsewhere.
