I believe that is 208 Turbo cars and very early cars, but I could be wrong. Mind is an 82. Euro parts book for my car does not show anything for reverse lights in the bumper or solid amber rounds.
Not sure if this helps the discussion but here are a few pics of my 1980/81 Carb'd Euro 308GTB. The Deep Front Spoiler was fitted around 1990. A 4 pipe sports exhaust has been fitted - originally the car came with a single pipe exhaust. A semi-circle of bodywork was cut out to allow the single pipe exhaust to sit higher - this semi-circle was filled when the 4 pipe exhaust was fitted. Also it has the California mirrors (I actually replaced these a few months back with a new pair from Superformance for £40 - US$75) The wheels are TRX (metric) but these are another later upgrade I believe - as they were only factory fitted to the QV's (?) Here ya go. My '85 the day I bought it with the original factory exhaust. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I see. Thanks for posting those. Looks more like the rest of the car and better than the U.S. IMO. Gotta tell this guy in a nice way i don't think he has a Euro. Those exhaust look great!
This is FOrza's 76 Euro Fiberglass...with backup lights in the bumper. I don't know when the change took place but I thought it was in 76/77. Image Unavailable, Please Login

what about body side moldings? My '83 euro has a the addition of side body moldings which I've never seen on any other 308. Why are they always absent? I think the main reason I bought this car was for the incredible sound it has. The euro just sings when you run through the gears. Awesome!!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are the differences betweeen the euro and the us versions that I have gleened this far. 1. high dome pistons 2. bigger cam 3. higher compression 4. 287 lbs lighter 5. sleeker bumpers 6. no exhaust bra 7. no cats 8. less emissions crap 9. metric 390 rims & tires 10. better sound!!!! 11. no U-shaped louvres on rear deck 12. fog lights 13. different side mirrors 14. side body moldings???? Thanks everyone for the compliments on the car. I have never seen or heard of side mouldings. Also my car came with 16 inch wheels and if you look in the owners manual it states they were optional for 1981 on. Did you check the parts manual for a side moulding part number?
never checked the parts list for the side moldings, but they are obviously stock, not aftermarket. They not only look great, but are functional. I'm surprized I have never seen them on any other 308
Hope this hasn't been posted previously, but the 17 digit VIN will tell you for sure. On a euro car, the tenth digit in will be a "0", while on a 1985 U.S. car that digit will be an "F". Hope this helps
I don't know for sure, but I thought all 308s came without the horse in the grill. If you look at the parts book for a 308 US or Euro, they do not list a horse in the grill, and the original brochures do not show one either. Or at least up until 1982, maybe they added it to the QV cars.
YEs I think most of us said to be sure to check the VIN, but the discussion just evolved into the cosmetic differences. Terry
In the book, "Original Ferrari V8 by Keith Bluemel", they do in fact show the euro QV with the driving lights outboard of the grille to also have the horse in the middle of the grille. I typically use this book for reference on most of the cosmetic differences, and have yet to find it inaccurate.
You are correct, I just checked the Euro QV parts book and it does list a horse on the grill, 2v cars and all US cars do not have the horse.
Thanks for checking, I've seen a few US models where the owners have had the Horse sodered on, but dosen't fit quite right with the large US bumper
