I think the 599 is the Best modern ferrari design yet, does anyone see any influence in these pics? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think, to a degree, all cars (or all SUVs or all bicycles) will share the same basic shape. A body over four wheels, a roof, doors, etc. My head is the same basic shape as Brad Pitt's, but when people look at me, they don't mistake me for his brother.
Didn't know she had a sister... I imagine if she were anything like Angelina, she too would be in the news. I would prefer Angie were whispering in my ear... ...with those big, luscious lips.
I don't see it at all. The only thing that looks similar is the fact that they both have 4 pipes and that's it. The front end looks completely different, same with the rear as well.
That would require some serious Photoshop... You're right, I can't say that's ever happened... Good point...
wow, I've actually always liked the Nissan Maxima. It's kind of embarrassing for Ferrari, but its still a lot more aggressive looking than the maxima.
It would have to be pretty high-res to really make the call. The Maxima is a decent rental car. I'm not a fan, but a Maxima isn't a lust purchase and it certainly doesn't take $250K+ to get into one. Which leads to the 599... I've seen 4 or 5 599 GTBs now in red, black and a special order metallic burgundy color. One was getting bodywork over at Ferrari of San Diego, but they all looked like they needed bodywork by Jenny Craig. IMO, it's a ponderous-looking coupe that doesn't come close to the 575M aesthetically. And don't even start with the stock 'Shout-at-the-Devil' wheels... Let's just say the "599 is the newest Ferrari ever" and call it an agreement.
I think theres a legitimate debate here. Im a sculptor and my eye is trained to notice similarity of form. There is definately a common sense of style in the front end of the Nissan and the 599. Now before everyone jumps down my throat let me explain. Car designers all influence each other and styling trends go beyond one marquee. I doubt the designer of the 599 intentionally looked at the Nissan for inspiration BUT he probably was influenced by the same generation of concept designs as the stylist of the Nissan. There are very few truely original designs, especially in the auto industry. Though I hate Bangles 'flame surfacing' I do have to give him credit for doing something new. I designed creatures for the special fx industry for a long time...everyone was always influenced by everyone else. Same goes for music and every other art form on the planet.
